Thatness. All phenomena, existence, vessels, and contents, The uncreated Dharma is thatness itself. That which does not move in the three times, Unobstructed wisdom is thatness itself. That which is completely perfect in everything, The essence of purity is thatness itself. The ever-present yoga thatness, Should be enumerated as four aspects. How the Dharmadhatu is known, That is the thatness of the mind. Since the Dhatu itself is not altered in any way, That is the thatness of Dharma. The clarity of the Dhatu and wisdom, That is the thatness of wisdom. Since the Dhatu and wisdom are non-dual, That is the thatness of essence. The thatness of great yoga also, Should be known as four aspects. The letter Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) and so on, From which all are generated, Is said to be the thatness of the mind. Aggregates, elements, sense fields, consciousness, Since appearances are without inherent nature, From the beginning, the nature of Dharma is thatness itself. Thus, unobscured and clear, Is the thatness of wisdoms. The great self-nature is accomplished, Is the thatness of essence. The yoga of beings thatness also, Should be enumerated as four aspects. Whatever samadhi is abiding, That samadhi, however it abides in the mind, Is said to be the thatness of the mind. Samadhi without attachment, Is said to be the thatness of Dharma. Lineage and color are distinctly clear, Is the thatness of wisdoms. The four lineages, the four great seals, Is the thatness of essence. These sixteen aspects of thatness, Should be known as the source of the path. In the instructions of the four essences, The instructions of Bodhicitta, All Buddhas of the three times, And all sentient beings of the three realms, All arise from Bodhicitta, The body and wisdom of the Buddhas, And the body and habitual tendencies of sentient beings, All phenomena and existence, Bodhicitta has no acceptance or rejection. The wisdom and compassion of the Buddhas also, Have no increase, decrease, acceptance, or rejection. Even the suffering of sentient beings, Is the nature of Bodhicitta, Pervading all phenomena, existence, vessels, and contents. It cannot be moved by any antidotes. It abides equally like the limit of space. That is the essence, Bodhicitta, Separated from all grasping and elaboration. Transcending sound and terminology. It cannot be expressed in words or letters. There is no object of indication. Separated from the object of manifestation.

This essence does not arise from anything else; it is free from all fabricated words. Thus it is taught. The uncreated instruction is: This supreme body of Bodhicitta, because it pervades all phenomena, there is nothing to be done as one or two. Therefore, there is no combination of two in it. Because all phenomena arise from the mind, phenomena and mind cannot be combined as two. Because the result cannot be sought from the cause, cause and result cannot be combined as two. Because method and wisdom arise from the object, method and wisdom cannot be combined. Because wisdom is clear in the realm, the realm and wisdom cannot be combined. Because objects appear to the senses, objects and senses cannot be combined. Because all phenomena are one in the mind, it is said that one and two cannot be combined. This is said. The instruction on the three times of reasoning is: This great perfection of mind-essence, because it has no birth or cessation, is the reasoning of no three times. The terms of past, future, and present do not reside in names. The past time has no cessation. The future has no birth. The present time has no place to stay. Therefore, it is the instruction of the oneness of the three times. Thus it is taught. The instruction on the source of the great transmission is: This great perfection of mind-essence, because it determines all phenomena, is the instruction on the source of the great transmission. Thus it is said. The chapter of the Sutra that determines the three transmissions and four instructions. Then, that great Bodhisattva again spoke to the assembly this explanation of the meaning of the Sutra that determines the three transmissions and four instructions. O great assembly, listen now! This transmission through the ear is: By whom and how is it transmitted through the ear? Samantabhadra Vajra, the nature of reality, has no realm of activity. The meaning of having no realm of activity is thus: Because the nature of reality abides as one, for whomever it may be, the nature of reality has no realm of activity; that which is taught is also obtained. The essence of Bodhicitta itself is, because it is the essence from which all phenomena arise, from the essence free from elaboration, the nature of reality arises free from elaboration, which is very wonderful. Thus it is transmitted through the ear. By whom and how is it manifested? The manifestation of the nature of reality and mind-essence is: A(ཨ,a,Unborn) and the beautiful Ta(ཏ,ta,Suchness) are said to be the Dharmakaya. The essence, Bodhicitta, is from the Dharmakaya, the magical manifestations of the five aggregates and
