Chapter Seventy-Three: The Chapter on Abiding in the State Then, the All-Creating King Samantabhadra spoke of the essence of mind, which abides without gathering or scattering. O, Thusness, meditate on Vajrasattva. The Buddha of Buddhas, the All-Creating King, The essence taught without alteration, Is the meaning of Thusness without lord or retinue. O, King of Awareness, powerful in clarity, The essence is the nature beyond effort and accomplishment, Taken by the supreme wisdom of realization. This is the mandala of the All-Creating King. O, Buddha of Buddhas, the All-Creating King, The essence, the mandala of the body, is arranged thus: All phenomena that appear and abide, Are arranged in the nature of the unborn Dharmadhatu. Because there is no acceptance or rejection in the meaning of essence, This too is arranged by me, the All-Creating One. O, Buddha of Buddhas, the All-Creating King, The essence, the mandala of speech, is arranged thus: All phenomena that are spoken and abide, Are arranged as speech from the unborn Dharmadhatu. The essence, unspeakable, Is gathered into speech. This too is arranged by the All-Creating King. O, Buddha of Buddhas, the All-Creating King, The essence, the mandala of awareness, is arranged thus: All thoughts, awareness, and concepts, Are known as the meaning of the unborn All-Creating One himself. The nature of my, the All-Creating One's, body, speech, and mind, Is the three mandalas of uncorrected, natural abiding. By realizing the meaning of simultaneous perfection without contrivance, One enters the meaning of the spontaneously accomplished essence. O, Vajrasattva, meditate on the nature of Thusness. In the mandala of the supreme, self-born essence, When the three doors are relaxed and abide naturally as they are, One abides in the intention of me, the All-Creating One. The All-Creating Kings of the past who have passed away, Also perfected the meaning by abiding naturally in intention. The All-Creating Kings of the future who have not yet come, Will also perfect the meaning by abiding naturally without contrivance. The All-Creating Kings who abide now, Also abide by abiding naturally in intention. O, Great Vajrasattva, you should meditate. Yogis who belong to my retinue, For this intention of the All-Creating King, Without seeking, give prophecy by abiding naturally. This meaning of abiding naturally in intention,

Because it is not the realm of everyone's practice, it is not known; because of abiding in equanimity, it transcends the realm of realization. Abide in that All-Creating King. (Thus it is said.) The seventy-fourth chapter, which is the chapter on abiding in the essence of the meaning, from the Bodhicitta All-Creating King, is completed. Then, the Bodhicitta All-Creating King spoke this about abiding in the dominion of awareness. O Vajra Bodhisattva, meditate on suchness! After the King of Awareness clearly dominates, one does not depend on the power of the bliss of signs. Having realized, abide as it is in the meaning of non-thought. O All-Creating King, when awareness gains power, things appear as they are, always unadulterated. Without cause or condition, the supreme path of peace, however one establishes the basis, is that very nature. O All-Creating King, the power of realizing the great method, when all enter into objects as they are, having known both faults and virtues equally, one transcends the meaning of entering and not entering. O All-Creating King, this thought of dominating with awareness, is beyond the realm of objects that cannot be spoken of with words. Memory is pacified and without elaboration, pervading like space and completely without direction. O Vajra Bodhisattva, meditate on suchness! In that which transcends the realm of meditation and non-meditation, because there is no hope or fear in the arising and entering of both, one does not meditate on the meaning of non-entering equally. One does not take the accomplishments of the senses, there is no fabrication. Abide respectfully in the All-Creating King himself. O Teacher, the All-Creating King, my own nature is the self-arisen essence without meditation, wisdom is clear and without accomplishment, power is the cutting off of hope and fear through realization. For the yogi who necessarily enters into this, the profound yoga is the teaching that transcends cause and effect. To the unadulterated wisdom, the All-Creating King, one does not show the teaching of how to abide in this way. He has not spoken before, nor will he speak later, nor will he speak of what is happening now. O Essence of the Teacher, the All-Creating King, in the Dharma-nature that is without meditation or thought, abiding in forgetfulness without thought is samsara itself. Searching and meditating is the path of the signs of thought. Therefore, the samadhi with hope and fear, abiding does not liberate, the All-Creating King does not teach. O Teacher of Teachers, the All-Creating King, having cut off the bonds of both with realization,
