In non-meditation, because there is no gathering and scattering of moments, the great meditation abides in bliss. Because it pervades the realm of great bliss, the pervading realm is the meditation of the Dharmakaya. Whatever appears, not moving from that, the flourishing appearance is meditation. Abandoning experience, not seeking a place, the impartiality of object and mind is meditation. Because there is no alternating abandonment, it is meditation without increase or decrease. Because it transcends all session intervals, it is continuous meditation. Because afflictions cease at the point of cessation, it is the ultimate meaning of meditation. Because it dissolves into the realm of great bliss, it is unchanging meditation. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the All-Pervading King, the thirtieth chapter, the teaching on meditation. Then, again, the Teacher himself spoke to the assembly: The great Dharma of no self-nature, this wondrous inconceivable is like this: From the gate of non-birth, the miracle of birth arises. The miracle that arises from self-nature, from that which is born from non-birth, non-birth is self-nature, not other. From the gate of non-birth, the miracle that arises from self-nature, the miracle of birth arises, non-birth is self-nature, not other. From the secret gate of non-birth, because non-birth is born in the four birth places, at the moment of birth, there is no birth. Non-birth is self-nature, not other born. Because of the ripening of karma through changing conditions, even those born in the three realms of samsara, at the moment of birth, there is no birth. Non-birth is self-nature, not other born. From the secret gate of non-birth, because of the purity of past aspirations, even those born as Bodhisattvas, at the moment of birth, they are unborn. Non-birth is self-nature, not other born. From the secret gate of definite non-birth, with the power of stable samadhi and the culmination of the number of recitations, even those born in the realm of vidyadharas, non-birth is self-nature, not other born. At the moment of birth, there is no birth. From the secret gate of definite non-birth, with the power of aspiration and the power of samadhi, and the union of insight, in the boundless and vast realms, even those born as princes, non-birth is self-nature, not other born. At the moment of birth, there is no birth. From the secret gate of non-birth, at the end of completing the continuation of practice.

When diligence arises on the path, unborn is inherently present, not born from another. The moment it arises, there is no birth. What is born from the six realms of samsara, and the conduct in pure lands, all the dharmas of the paths of samsara and nirvana, are self-arisen from the unborn, therefore the unborn dharma shows various forms. Everything arises from the unborn, expressing it in words contradicts the meaning. There is no contradiction in the meaning of the unborn, there is contradiction in conventional words. There is no contradiction in bodhicitta, there is contradiction in wrong thoughts. What is spoken in uncorrected words, and what is spoken in unerring meaning, only appears to the fortunate, and is confusing to those without meaning. Error and enlightenment, both are the nature of equality, therefore there is no duality in the meaning of nature. The nature of the unborn is the door through which the five elements, outer and inner, arise. The moment the five elements, outer and inner, appear, unborn is inherently present, not born from another. The moment it arises, there is no birth. The nature of the unborn is the cause of the birth of male, female, and neuter. Even though one takes the body of male, female, and neuter, unborn is inherently present, not born from another. The moment it arises, there is no birth. The nature of the unborn is the cause of the birth of the five poisons and the three poisons. The moment the five afflictions appear, unborn is inherently present, not born from another. The moment it arises, there is no birth. The nature of the unborn is the cause of the birth of self-arisen wisdom. The moment it appears in impartial awareness, unborn is inherently present, not born from another. The moment it arises, there is no birth. Unborn, self-arisen wisdom, because it is free from all causes and conditions, is the nature of being primordially present. It appears as the basis of all that exists and does not exist. The boundary of characteristics is opened by space, the boundary of entities is opened by nature, the boundary of appearances is opened by emptiness, the boundary of samsara and nirvana is opened by awareness. All that becomes the door of birth is opened by the realm of the unborn, therefore this space of the dharma realm that opens boundaries, penetrates the vision of all of samsara and nirvana, everything, everything appears at once. Even though it appears, it is one without birth. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Longchen Rabjam, the thirty-first chapter, which shows the single certainty of the unborn. Then again, the teacher spoke to the assembly without gathering and scattering: Do not look at anything other than this! If you look, looking gives rise to thoughts.
