For the sake of applying to the real meaning, With vastness and great clarity, Instantly see the clear space lamp. The seeing of no seeing is, Seeing the meaning of emptiness. Not seeing from the awakening of habits, It is the meaning seeing of uninterruptedness. Not seeing from the exhaustion of obscurations, It is seeing from the arising of wisdom. For the heart essence of the free-from-action Dharma, It cannot be expressed by words and leaves, It cannot be measured by sound and measure, Shapes and colors cannot be seen. Because it manifests everything according to conditions, Therefore, do not entrust appearances and sounds to the Dharma. Because the object of attachment is not elsewhere, Therefore, do not cling to objects and substances. Because other conditions are not elsewhere, Therefore, use your own Dharma yourself. Because it is separated from all appearances and hearings, Therefore, cut off the root of the mind within. Because it is the great path of yoga, Therefore, cut off the doubts of coarse and subtle movements. Because it is the state of immeasurability, Therefore, do not rely on subtle experiences. Thus it was said. From the King of Vast Expanse Tantra, the eleventh chapter, Cutting Off Elaborations Within. Then, again, the Bhagavan spoke for the sake of not misunderstanding its meaning: The depth of intention is the decisive cut of meaning, Apart from this, there is no path to liberation, From where and by whom can it be sought? Seeking meaning without understanding due to ignorance, Is like a blind person trying to measure light. With views and practices speculated by one's own mind, Seeking the meaning that has been present from the beginning, Is like seeking stones in a treasure island, Gold and brass are mistaken for treasures. The grasper and the grasped are the cause of samsara, Clinging to Dharma is suffering. Much listening and thinking is the cause of distraction, Meditation and practice are the mind of action. The Three Jewels are merely imputed names, There is no other path more supreme than this. That non-existence itself is the path of all, The nature of mind is vast and without acceptance or rejection. There are no edges and no center, For the nature of Dharma that is free from edges and center, Because there is no negation and affirmation, Therefore, the vast space that is unborn and accommodates all. Samsara and Nirvana, All Dharmas entirely, Are primordially free from action and pure in space. The way of the arising of awareness is like the sky, Inseparable like a magical illusion. All of samsara, nirvana, happiness, and suffering, Reside in one mandala of vast space. There is no need to seek self-knowing and self-appearance, Whatever awareness arises in the expanse, By looking at the expanse itself, it is seen now.

And the pure lands of the Sugata Buddhas, And above the great hells Arising from wrong thoughts and delusions, Whatever appears is of one essence, the expanse of dharmata. Whatever appears in the one equality, Is vast and great because there is no obstruction. It is great from the very beginning because it cannot be sought. The dharmas of samsara and nirvana, controlled by the mind, All things, everything, are without object. In the sphere of the unborn Samantabhadri, Whatever appears through causeless conditions, Arises as desired and is merely appearance. In the purity of wisdom and liberation, Objectless awareness is clear in the expanse. Self-grasping and substantiality are pacified in the sky. Even if examined as substantial, it is the expanse of emptiness. Since there is no grasping from the very beginning, Whatever is conceived as emptiness, By planting the seeds of samsara, Causes the contaminated cause and effect to miss the mark. Even the appearance of samsara and nirvana as two, Is none other than the king of equality. In suchness itself, all of samsara and nirvana, Purity and impurity, appear from one. The object of appearance has no nature of clinging. Whatever is grasped in the direction of emptiness, Goes thereby to the demon of clinging. When the grasping of one's own characteristics, And the grasping of substantiality are reversed, It is merely labeled as emptiness. In the nature of one's own awareness, There is no imputation of emptiness or substantiality. At the time when tormented by intense suffering, Just abiding in the prison of samsara, In the nature of bodhichitta, There is neither the characteristic of that suffering, Nor the reason for appearing as happiness. By gathering one's own awareness under control, And gaining mastery over self-arisen wisdom, All are determined to go as one On that great path of complete liberation. Therefore, that path is also without high or low, That place is also without good or bad. Because everything dissolves therein, The precipice of samsara is bodhichitta. Because there is no straying in the expanse, Self-grasping and characteristics are nonexistent from the very beginning. Everything is liberated in the nature of the sky, Like the purity of the sky and its miracles. Conceptual thought arises from the absence of characteristics. Self-arisen, self-pacified, the nature of what is to be known, Is liberated in its own state, the expanse free from activity. Though various things appear, there is no doing. Because the various appear from the one, In the one, look at your own face with your own self. This instruction of the meeting of nonduality, Is the pointing out of the Buddha's intention. Because there is nothing other than the one mind-expanse, There is nothing separate from bodhichitta. The abiding nature of mind is primordially accomplished, Dharmata need not be accomplished now. Like the sky, it is accomplished from the very beginning.
