You too, Bodhichitta, Without untying the knot of the mind, Seeking the noble path elsewhere Is like a prisoner writhing in a pit. Hoping for liberation, yet not liberated. If you desire, whatever you desire is an extreme, If you desire existence, you are bound by the extreme of permanence, If you desire non-existence, it is the mind of annihilation. That knot of permanence and annihilation, Is the shackle that binds the yogi. How is that knot untied? By lower paths and other paths, Untying does not mean liberation, But rather being bound by the rope of attachment. The secret knot is untied like this: By not seeing faults in the extremes, Not making binding and liberation, Without abandoning the two extremes, it is self-liberated, Not abiding in the state of non-duality, Yet both appear spontaneously, The four extremes are vast, the realm of space, Binding and liberation are non-dual, blissful in their own place. One bliss, two bliss, all is bliss, All sentient beings of the three realms are bliss, All Buddhas of the three times are also bliss, In the realm of self-appearing Dharmakaya, there is bliss. Because the Dharmakaya is without change, All phenomena of samsara and nirvana abide in bliss. Because there is no certainty in that, Actions and activities are unimpeded, In that realm, act as you please. Because no object of action is obstructed, There is no fear whatsoever, And because there is no hindrance whatsoever, Who binds whom with what? Binding and liberation are Bodhichitta itself. That person who understands thus, With what and what as the object of action, Acting without extremes is, In the nature of selflessness, Unfabricated, unaltered, naturally abiding. In the nature of certainty as it is, The meaning of unerring certainty arises, Thus, in the realm, the mind abides in bliss. The Dharmakaya without birth and death, Because it is unborn, it is indestructible, Because it is unarisen, it does not cease, Because it is unmade, it is not lost. Not appearing substantially, it is free from direction, Because it is unoriginated, it does not go, Without going and coming, it abides primordially. Pervading all and without obscuration, The great bliss body like the sky. Because it is free from names of existence and non-existence, The Dharmakaya is indescribable. Because it is immeasurable in size and dimension, The Dharmakaya is without substance. Because it is free from the realm of characteristics, The Dharmakaya is without expression. Because object and subject are not established, The Dharmakaya is invisible. Because it is free from the two attachments of manifestation and clinging, The Dharmakaya is ungraspable. It is without example!

Unborn space! The sun of self-arisen wisdom, Removes the darkness of ignorance and is seen, Here one sees the respective teachers, Here also one sees the respective retinues, Here one sees the respective teachings, It is vast and pervasive with all-illuminating light. One also sees the pure lands of all the Buddhas, One becomes one's own virtuous friend, One also becomes the retinue that listens, One also becomes the path of the teachings. The path of unsurpassed secret mantra, Is definitely taught only therein. The meaning of straightforwardness has no end, The leaves of the words of straightforward meaning! This definitive vehicle of certainty, Cuts through all doubts, Having sought the path that is difficult to traverse, One will see the meaning that is difficult to see. When that meaning is realized, Whether or not one relies on causes, Whether or not one obtains results, Whether or not one conceptualizes objects, Whether or not the vessel is pure, Whether or not one receives empowerment, Whether or not one masters the knowable, This great expanse without reliance on anything, Is the profound yoga, the Great Perfection teaching. In some, blessings are taught as primary, With this blessing, bless all, The common qualities are inconceivable, Especially the supreme state is great. In some, it is thought to be obtained from others, Since there is no loss or gain in this, The fruit of this ripens in all, Since the differences of karma and result are not diminished, The common qualities are inconceivable, Especially the state of the supreme state. In some, one learns or does not learn, In this, there is nothing to be learned as this, Without learning, all know it from the beginning, Since there is no need for listening, explaining, or hearing, The signless self-liberation is especially supreme. In some, one focuses or does not focus, In this, there is no focusing or habituation, Since not focusing is all-illuminating, Without obscurations or veils, it is especially supreme. Especially since strength arises in this, There is no need for compassion to arise from others, There is no need to diminish the differences of karma and result, There is no need to make the unclear clear, Since one sees the meaning of what has not been seen, The all-illuminating, unchanging dharmadhatu. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Great Vast King, the twentieth chapter, which teaches the general infusion of awareness. Then again it was said, In the bliss of awareness's own door, Although there are no names or forms, The appearance of oneself arises as the enjoyment body, It appears in the face of the bodhisattva, In that which pervades all with compassion, Although there are no objects or subjects, The appearance of oneself
