Now, enjoyment and the arising of four kinds of happiness and suffering, four hundred and four kinds of diseases, eighty thousand kinds of obstacles, and eighty-four thousand kinds of afflictions arise. From the Great Tantra, the Stainless Moon Crystal, the way in which outer vessels and inner essences appear, the sixteenth chapter of the Tantra. Again, the Youthful Powerful One asked the Teacher as follows: "Ehe, ehe, Teacher Vajradhara, although you have spoken of the unerring way of appearance, please also speak of the distinction between the pure and impure elements, and the state of abiding, wisdom." In response to the question, he gave the following teaching: "Listen, Youthful Powerful One, the distinction between the pure and impure elements, the outer, inner, and secret three, should be distinguished as follows. The outer earth, stones, mountains, and rocks are impure. Their pure essence is the sun, trees, forests, and fruits, and herbs are pure. This water element is impure. Its pure essence is the moon in water. This fire element is impure. Its pure essence is the sun. This wind element is impure. Its pure essence is its own sound. Empty space is impure. Its pure essence is rainbows and planets and stars. Now, the inner elements are distinguished as pure and impure. Flesh, bones, hair, and skin are impure. Their pure essence is the kati-tsa, a white crystal thread that abides in the heart. Blood and lymph are impure. Their pure essence is a drop of blood, the size of a thumb, that abides in the heart. The body's warmth is impure. Its pure essence is its own warmth, the size of sunlight, that abides in the heart. The incoming and outgoing breath is impure. Its pure essence is the size of a horse's tail that abides in the heart. The empty space of the chest cavity and veins is considered to be impure. The pure essence is the eye of the variegated tigle, which abides in the center of the empty and clear heart. The distinction between the pure and impure of the secret is that the inner five wisdoms are pure. The five lights that appear outwardly are called impure. But in meaning, they are the five bodies, the five wisdoms, endowed with five lights and five colors, indivisibly abiding in the center of the heart. From the Great Tantra, the Stainless Moon Crystal, the distinction between the pure and impure of the five elements, and a brief explanation of the state of abiding, the seventeenth chapter of the Tantra. Samaya. Again, the Youthful Powerful One asked the Teacher as follows: "Ehe, Teacher Bhagavan, the distinction between the pure and impure of the five elements, and the state of

Even a brief explanation is difficult to understand, As sentient beings cannot comprehend it, Please explain the situation and formation in detail. Having asked thus, The Teacher himself replied: "Listen, young one, endowed with strength! The spontaneously accomplished wisdom awareness and, The nature of the self-born body is, Well explained, hold it in your mind. The characteristics of the four supports of the body are, The cycle of being independent and, The way of cycling without independence. The cycle of being independent is, Blue light emanates outward, Green light returns inward, Wisdom abides in great clarity and bliss. That is the spontaneously accomplished Dharmakaya. Taking birth with remembrance is, The cycle of the Sambhogakaya's enjoyment. Acting for the benefit of beings with remembrance is, The cycle of the Nirmanakaya. Born miraculously like lotuses, Entering the pure womb with remembrance. These are all independent. The cycle of being without independence is, Virtuous ones cycle upwards, Sinful ones cycle downwards. Furthermore, the cycle of sinful ones is, This wind and consciousness appearance, Due to the power of karma, forms appear. Endowed with all faculties, impartially, Seeking food, drink, and refuge. The entire three thousand worlds cycle in a single sphere, Experiencing many feelings of suffering. There are four types of birth: Womb-born, egg-born, moisture-born, And miraculously born, four types. In the mother's womb, it is like this: When the consciousness of the bardo wanders, The attachment and desire of the parents gather, Merit is in harmony and karmic connection is present, When causes and conditions are complete, one enters the womb. The entrance is either pure or impure, When the five aggregates unite in intercourse, It is the nature of the five poisons, six consciousnesses, and, The five wisdoms. Without knowing the self-nature of wisdom, The elements gather due to the defilement of clinging to it. From then until the body is formed, old age, and death, One wanders in samsara, and the elements gather. Without knowing the bardo of dharmata, The five poisons and three poisons increase due to clinging to it. Due to clinging by the six objects, When men and women engage in intercourse, Clinging to it, the male's wisdom essence, The awareness that flows into the mind, When the parents' two pleasures are equal, Clinging to it, they mix and wrap around the womb. The way of wrapping is like this: The father's bindu is like the moon, The mother's semen and blood are like the sun, The sun and moon are joined like a gau box, The consciousness of the bardo
