Then, the Teacher said to the assembly: The meaning of the unsurpassed Great Perfection, do not rely on words, but show it as not relying on anything. The unsurpassed Great Perfection transcends expression, and the symbol cannot exist in words. If it does, it contradicts the words. The meaning of the heart of no path, just by hearing it, one thinks one has merit. Such a person, doing good and evil, does not contradict the meaning of permanence and annihilation. Even if words are spoken that deviate from the meaning of unequaledness, they will not be overwhelmed and will not change liberation. If one does not have the confidence of co-emergent equality, equal words are just thoughts and cannot reverse the winds. If one does not understand the meaning of complete purity, one engages just by hearing the words, and without accumulating the merit of that meaning, nothing will be accomplished and will eventually be destroyed. Regarding this meaning of the unsurpassed Great Perfection, saying that there is no need to practice, and using words to express the meaning, that is the highest view of the heretics, the worst of the views of annihilation with both permanence and annihilation. Even if one truly experiences millions of kalpas, one will suffer from attachment, and the power of annihilation will mature into a supreme place. Even actions that do not create sin, no matter how much they are accumulated, will still remain in the three realms. This is what is said in the root tantra. Regarding refuting the views of other vehicles, this is the ninth chapter that is not put into words and not shown in oral words. Then, the Teacher said to the assembly: The thought of needing to practice is shown. The upright hermit of words who is not related to this essence, without that experience, without practicing the essence itself, it is impossible to see. Thinking that one has seen is a mistake. The wisdom of the unseen ones should be practiced with blessings. Do not let the thoughts of conceptual grasping stay in the mind. If you do not practice the true meaning, it is impossible to obtain unsurpassed liberation. Practice that meaning in a quiet place, with immaculate and pure wisdom, practice the unspeakable meaning, and you will obtain unsurpassed liberation. If you do not practice the definite meaning, the true path to Buddhahood will be long, and Bodhi itself has no beginning and end. The Buddhas of the past, present, and future also abide in the Buddha-land by practicing the meaning of non-dual wisdom. If you want to obtain the fruit of happiness, practice the non-dual essence. This is what is said in the root tantra. The tenth chapter explaining the need for practice. Then, the Teacher said to the assembly: Showing the various methods of practice. Those who rejoice in obtaining unsurpassed liberation should rely on

Accomplished through reliance. Merely relying on skillful means. The meaning of bliss arises from oneself. Without skillful means, separated from wisdom, it is like an elephant thirsty for water chasing after mirages. For those with faith and capacity, the method of grasping individual characteristics is shown. For those with a strong tendency towards hatred, the mind-holding of molten white silver is shown. For those with a strong tendency towards delusion, the mind-holding of a bright lamp is shown. For those with a strong tendency towards pride, the mind-holding of a peaceful deity is shown. For those with a strong tendency towards desire, the mind-holding of an amrita vase is shown. For those with a strong tendency towards jealousy, the mind-holding of the seed syllable is shown. By relying on these five methods, the essence of reality should be diligently meditated upon. Supreme enlightenment, the Buddha's own mind. Although appearing like various lightning flashes, it should be kept in stillness. Thinking and meditating transcends the object of meditation. The Sugata should be placed in self-awareness, self-arising, and self-peace. Likewise, abide in the vast expanse of space. Not overcome by the six objects, not confused or changed. Because concepts cannot be conceived, therefore, do not think of anything, do not contemplate, abide in equanimity. Thinking and meditating transcends the object of meditation. As mentioned above, place it in self-awareness, self-arising, and self-peace. The object of abiding is the very mind of the Buddha. The Buddha himself did not indicate, "It is this." Thus, from the root tantra, the eleventh chapter, which shows the method of meditation. Then the teacher said to the assembly, showing the essence of the definitive meaning. The essence of the Great Perfection is, because the conceptual thought of memory does not arise, therefore the mountain is complete. When consciousness is not attached to objects, wisdom is complete. The depth is the complete wisdom, therefore wisdom without conceptualization arises. One will transcend the three realms. That which has no mind is just that. Not perceiving anything, not thinking of anything. Not doing anything, not thinking. That which is called mind-object is said to be the completion of all meditation. Without thought and analysis, it is the supreme of bliss. Wisdom is separated from grasping and being grasped. The teaching is the essence of the nature body. In that, there is not a particle to be fixated upon. Therefore, what is there to fixate upon? On that which is not fixated, what is fixated? In that, it is placed, it abides. The lotus eye will see it. Without consciousness is supreme wisdom. Without clarity is Yeshe (Sanskrit, Yeśas, fame, glory). Without grasping is Tini wind (Sanskrit, Tīni-vāyu, three winds). Diligence.
