In the language of India: Tantrarajasavarnakūrmavajrayānamūlatantra. In the Tibetan language: The Root Tantra, Vajrayana, the Golden Tortoise, King of Tantras. Homage to the body of the knowledgeable teacher! Thus it was said at one time, That teacher, all-knowing, For the sake of great compassion, to benefit beings, Showed the miracle of being born from the unborn. The Dharmakaya, like the sky, beyond expression, To establish the Form Body and exhaust the benefit of beings, In the place of the primordial Buddha, generated the power of wisdom, In Akanishta (འོག་མིན་, not referring to Akanishta in the desire realm, but the highest state in tantra), contemplated the Dharma to tame beings, Spoke to all the retinues of the Thirty-Three, In the place of Clear Light, the powers of wisdom arose, Knowing in his heart that the time to tame had come, He descended by the gaze of the father and entered the womb of the mother, Showed the manner of taking birth after nine months and ten days, The supremely excellent thirty-two major marks, And the eighty minor marks were also fully shown. Now, to bring joy to all sentient beings, With age progressing in stages, his deeds reached their end. To whatever sentient beings he could tame, He opened and taught eighty-four thousand doors of Dharma. The place of that teaching is explained in three ways. To some who are powerful, intelligent, and faithful, He taught extensively, with great renown and expansion. To some who are wise and have the capacity, He taught by necessarily condensing the meanings of the Sutras. To some who have faith, devotion, and definitely hold on, He taught the root instructions freely and openly. In general, it is not enough to explain it like this, Like grains of sand, the number is beyond count, It appears like scattering flour, etc., under a comb or book. For the benefit of beings, I have taught it intentionally. Whatever benefits beings, living or dead, The meanings of heaven, upright, horizontal, lying down, face down, etc., He definitely distinguished and taught about liberation and bondage. Whatever has faith in upholding and protecting the teachings, The many differences in tantras and instructions, He also distinguished and taught with the Yamari Sutra. Whatever practices the ten virtues, keeps the discipline, and has faith, The many teachings on the vows of discipline, He also distinguished and taught with the Sutras of the Hearers and Bodhisattvas. Whatever has faith in the general tantras and secret mantras, The root mandala

It is also taught in this way. Both activities are taught by distinguishing them through the Yoga Tantra. For those who have faith in the inner secret mantras, the stages of approach and accomplishment are taught in many ways. The generation and completion stages are taught by dividing them into two aspects. For those who are devoted to the Great Vehicle itself, the different aspects of the mind are taught in many ways. It is taught by distinguishing it through the scriptures of Ati Yoga. Although many distinctions are taught in this way, it is very difficult for that meaning to truly arise from it. Because it is rare to arise, from the mandala of the mind, the definitive essence, the root tantra, and also the aspects of the tantra are fully taught. The tantra and the subsequent tantras are taught like fragments of a kalpa. For those of the precious lineage, with a mind like a vase, this tantra is the tantra of tantras, the root tantra of the tortoise. It is taught outwardly, determined by view and abandoned by practice. For those of the sandalwood lineage, with a mind like a lotus, the subsequent tantra of the Bodhisattva Vehicle. It is taught in order to place knowledge on one certainty. For those with uncertain, different, and individual minds, the twelve small tantras used individually. The names of the individuals, signs, and names of the tantras are taught. For those who have not distinguished repetition and confusion in the Great Perfection, the tantra itself, which is the general summary of completion, should be taught. For those who are devoid of the meaning of the essence and gather groups of branches, the tantras that gather the roots should be taught. For those who view awareness and grasping as two, the tantra itself of the single intention should be taught. For those who make the meaning of symbols into words, the tantra itself without letters should be taught. For those who view permanence and annihilation, grasping and being grasped as two, the tantra itself that eliminates extremes should be taught. For those who regard gold and clay as the same, the tantra itself of stainless purity should be taught. For those whose minds change the meaning of the essence, the tantra itself of the vajra view should be taught. For those who are lost in the meaning of intention and delight in the illusory body, the tantra itself of meditative sitting posture should be taught. For those who have not realized the view of the view, the tantra itself, the inner treasure of the mind, should be taught. For those who have not completed the instructions with instructions, the tantra itself, the secret inner treasure, should be taught. For those who are free from the confused mind, the tantra itself of the rosary of pearls, the means, should be taught. For those whose view and conduct are contradictory, the tantra itself of following conduct should be taught. Likewise, the expanse of wisdom
