Becoming the basis. Also born into the lower realms. Thus, in the root tantra, it says that the protrusions of Ba-so, the styles of gold and silver, the patterns of turtles, the clay deities, and all compounded things make it difficult to attain the fruit of enlightenment, the fifth chapter. Then the teacher said to the assembly: By the vows of the lower vehicle, it is taught that it is difficult to attain the fruit of enlightenment. The only path of the Buddha is without contradiction, beyond extremes. Practicing the ten sins does not obscure this. Sin itself is enlightenment. Sins and obscurations do not remain, and in meaning, there is no duality. Therefore, guarding ascetic vows misses the meaning of Dzogchen. Through asceticism, effort, and striving, one does not find the true path to enlightenment. Vows are the root that distances enlightenment. Not guarding, not keeping vows, is the supreme path of Dzogchen. This Dzogchen path is a path without abandonment or acceptance. The path of non-duality, the path of not abandoning anything. Good and evil are non-dual, without acceptance or rejection, it is the only path to enlightenment. Practicing both good and evil is the mind of gold and dung. It is a mistaken path, making the Dzogchen path long. This Dzogchen is non-dual vajra, unchanging, without acceptance or rejection. Entering this non-dual supreme great path, not taking, not abandoning, is the vajra true path. Good and evil are non-dual, the essence is one bindu. Behold the self-aware suchness wisdom. Thus, in the root tantra, it says that by guarding the ascetic vows of the lower vehicle, it is difficult to achieve the fruit of enlightenment, the sixth chapter. Then the teacher said to the assembly: Even with outer and inner mantras, it is taught that it is difficult to attain the fruit of enlightenment. The formless, unique vajra supreme body, transcending the limits of effort and accomplishment, Dzogchen has reached the other shore. Free from the mind that abides in either of the two truths, those with characteristics and dualistic unions do not see this. Non-dual, free from elaboration, the state of Dzogchen bliss. For those who grasp at the apprehended and the apprehender, this meaning is far away. Why is wisdom the palace of samsara? Why does the form body abide on the seat and offerings? Even if one sees and makes offerings to the holy one, even if it becomes clear through samadhi, the self-aware, equal state is great conceptualization. It is not pacification, but meditating on conceptualization. Conceptualization itself is delusion, one does not find the true path to enlightenment. Wisdom mind and samaya mind, blessed by the distinction of the path.

Oh! Even if you invite, seat, and make offerings, it is not truly understanding the meaning, it is just delusion, like the behavior of a child. In the nature of equal meaning, there is no grasping of the formless as having form. The various conceptual thoughts themselves are also wisdom, and the deity's form itself is the same. Fools are not the object of speculation, there is no offering and nothing to be offered. These are all causes of the cycle of conceptual thoughts. Those who truly desire the path to Buddhahood should abide in the one vajra free from conceptual thoughts. This is what is said in the root tantra. The chapter on how it is difficult to attain enlightenment through both inner and outer mantras, which is the seventh chapter. Then, the teacher showed the assembly that the meaning of this Great Perfection is necessary. The meaning of the five poisons eliminating disease, the unsurpassed perfection, if you do not understand this meaning, you will be bound by clarity. The meaning of being bound is eighty-four thousand afflictions, and through the antidote, this Great Perfection will be liberated. If you do not escape from the two wheels, there is no liberation, only by obtaining this perfect path can you be liberated. The Great Perfection path is the medicine that cures all diseases. The unmoving, the moving, everything abides in its own nature. Wanting this but not abandoning dualistic grasping, you will not find the path, and there is absolutely no chance to cure the extremely painful disease. Just as the cuckoo waits for the season, pursuing the moon. Others practice their own continuum, pursuing the scriptures, but if they do not obtain the desired Great Perfection, they will not awaken. Entering the four gateways and practicing the path, if you do not realize the supreme meaning of the common ground, you will not become a Buddha. This common essence is the fundamental mother of all things. You should know that everything is the fundamental mother. The meaning of this Great Perfection transcends the limits of effort and practice. The meaning of transcendence is the supreme of the unsurpassed fruit. It is difficult to obtain this meaning through explanation, speech, and effort. The unsurpassed Buddhas of the past, present, and future also attained the unsurpassed Buddhahood by seeing this meaning that is beyond words. This Great Perfection path is the essence of everything, if the deluded mind does not use this meaning, it is like polishing agate but it is not a jewel, decorating with pine but it is not sandalwood. If you do not see the meaning of the core, you will die of thirst on the seashore. This is what is said in the root tantra. The chapter on how mantra practitioners who listen to the scriptures of other vehicles also ultimately need the common meaning of the Great Perfection, which is the eighth chapter. Then
