Listen, brave ones. Hold the definitive secret in your heart. Possess the manner of gentle conduct. Be without deceit, broad-minded, and good-natured. Be suitable vessels for teaching the definitive meaning. Now listen to the essence of the Gathering. If you teach this to those who are not suited, you will break the command of the Buddhas. You will not be able to bear the rain of uninterrupted sins. It is said that you will be the foundation for hell. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Definitive Meaning, the All-Encompassing Wisdom, Equal to Space: The Second Chapter, on Teaching the Vessels and Contents. Then, to the assembly of the Gathering, the All-Knowing Dharma King, in order to establish all dharmas, spoke this distinction of meaning: The means to realize the true definitive meaning, in order to liberate from the three aspects of the Alaya, distinguishes the differences of the other five vehicles, recognizes the six faults of the mind, and distinguishes with the seven hindrances. Now listen to the essence of the Gathering. Ripen your own being with the five excellent empowerments. In order to know the meaning of the four qualities, grasp the foundation of the five vows, open the understanding of the five occasions, with the four kinds of distinctions of example and meaning, in order to strive for the meaning with the five Gatherings, establish with the five bardos.

By negating the three absences, generate conviction through the four reasons. Bring the fruition to its end through the cause. Be confident with the four realizations. From the Tantra of the All-Encompassing Great Perfection, the Wisdom Equal to the Sky, the Third Chapter, which teaches the definitive establishment of all dharmas, summarized and presented. Then, Vajrasattva requested the All-Knowing King of Dharma with this definitive need: "How does the alaya of the mind arise? How are the predispositions distributed in all places? How is the alaya of the body subdued? Please, King of Equality, explain." Having heard the meaning after this request, the All-Knowing Teacher, the Dharma King, explained the meaning of the three distinctions of the alaya, and declared the alaya of the mind: "The beginning, the end, and the present; the essence, the definition, the size should be known; the characteristics, the softness, the actions, and the abilities; are shown through the doors of objects, examples, and signs. Now, Vajrasattva, listen. The alaya of the mind, in the beginning, in whatever place where non-conceptualization has not taken hold, unknowing, co-emergent ignorance, the alaya of the mind arises with the entry of thought. Now, where is the basis of its dwelling? All sentient beings of the six realms, without exception, the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, Bodhisattvas, the common and uncommon ways. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Where does it go in the end? The antidote is endowed with scripture, arising from itself, gradually or suddenly, it is certain to be determined. If the meaning is not encountered, there is no certainty. The essence is because the ground itself is not known. The dormant predispositions are the alaya, dwelling in the essence of ignorance and thought. Now again, listen to the essence of the retinue. The definition is on the appearance of the object. Because of thinking about various objects, holding onto non-true dharmas as true, like mistaking a rope for a snake. The portions of sentient beings have sizes. The afflictive Bodhisattvas are soft, the predispositions are subtle and extremely subtle. Because there is no manifest cause, the afflictions are small. Because there is no cause and no sign, it is destroyed. In the end, it is empty without things. Now, while the alaya exists, the three times are constantly cut off and non-existent. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. The common essence is of the realms and so on. The nature of afflictive predispositions, destroys attachment, ignorance, and wrong views. The uncommon is empty all at once. Whatever is the same kind of action, the fully ripened is not gradual. Without interruption, the fruit ripens. What is not prophesied has no certainty.
