When the thought of attachment arises, the fifty aggregates are like a forest, the eight consciousnesses are like wild animals, and the habitual imprints of the alaya are like roots. Within that, the Dharmakaya resides, like a white lion, unseen by others. There is no enlightenment in the realm of objects, therefore the thought of attachment is mistaken. Now listen to the essence of gathering again. When the past habitual imprints are remembered, the fifty aggregates flow like water, the eight consciousnesses blaze like fire, and the habitual imprints of the alaya intertwine like a raft. Within that, the single thigle resides, like precious gold. Because it is difficult to attain that meaning, the karma of accumulating virtuous and non-virtuous habitual imprints is mistaken because the mind has attachment. Now listen to the essence of samsara again. When later afflictions arise, the fifty aggregates pile up like dust, the eight consciousnesses rage like a waterfall, and the afflictions of the alaya darken like darkness. Within that, the thigle Dharmakaya exists, like a jewel sunk in mud, unseen on the surface but present in the depths. Ignorance and afflictions reside in the depths. When ignorance and afflictions arise, the edge of samsara has no end, therefore becoming the cause of future lives is mistaken. Now listen to the essence of samsara again. When earlier and later thoughts arise, the mind and mental factors, etc., are always intoxicated by the delusion of ignorance. Therefore, the alaya is the dharma of samsara. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Quintessence of All Meanings, the Equality with the Wisdom Sky, the fifteenth chapter, which shows how the darkness of the mind obscures the single thigle. Then, to the assembled retinue, it was taught that the desire of the mind is mistaken, because the mind obscures the Dharmakaya. In the bardo between samsara and nirvana, if one does not know how to cut off the beginning and end, one cannot be liberated from birth, old age, sickness, and death, like a merchant without a guide. In the bardo between births, if one does not recognize the nature of the Dharmakaya, the darkness of ignorance will never clear, like a dark place without a lamp. Now listen to Vajrasattva again. In the bardo between body and mind, if one does not know how to cut off the place of error, one cannot reverse afflictive emotions and attachments, like being seized by a bear. In the bardo between equipoise and post-meditation, if one does not know how to continuously remain inseparable, one cannot overcome the obstacles of view and meditation, like a spring of water dried up by drought.

The bardo of existence, If the time of enlightenment is not known, The two forms of the Rupakaya are impossible. It is like losing a jewel in a gamble. The bardo of self-other disputes, If there is no dangerous path of essential words, One will not gain profit from other vehicles, Like a minister defeated on the battlefield. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, The fault of not having those instructions, Because the root of mind is ignorance, Because various confusions arise. The root of samsara is the five attachments and aversions, Constantly wandering in the three lower realms. Therefore, ignorance is confused by the mind. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, The desires of the mind are of ten kinds, Closely examined, they are shown to be wrong views. Therefore, appearances are made into mind, Definite meanings are corrected by intellect. Without the true mind, Dharma is not known, Therefore, without scripture, it is judged by reason. Object and mind are mixed together by intellect. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, Until the Sugata-garbha is seen, The great meaning of certainty with 408 scriptural statements, Until it is attained, one will not attain Buddhahood. Therefore, the root of all dharmas, The Dharmakaya is obscured by one's own mind. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, Because the mind is meaningless and confused, Because the wrong path of the Dharmakaya is the mind, Self-originated Dharma-nature is separate from mind. The mind-free, self-originated Dharmakaya. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, Whatever it may be, for whatever reason, Mind follows the five senses, It is not contemplation, but the mind of ignorance, Because it is the mind that generates the six realms, The confusion of ignorance arises from the mind, Therefore, it is said that the mind is a wrong path. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, On the self-originated essence Dharmakaya, Because there are no eight aggregates, it is separate from mind. When attached to various objects, It is called one's own mind. Because the root of faults is the mind, Therefore, the mind cannot attain Buddhahood. Because the mind generates causes and conditions, It is a non-definitive, confused intellect. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, Because the nine vehicles are considered to be mind, It is said to be the wrong path of the definitive Ati. Therefore, mind is the Dharma of samsara, Like a blind person not seeing a jewel. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Essence of All Definitive Meanings, the Equality of Wisdom and Space, The Sixteenth Chapter, Showing One's Own Mind as a Wrong Path, is Complete. །།Then, the assembly of the gathering Four hundred and nine Homage to the All-Knowing One
