These are examples of vehicles. Bridges and the earth are examples of the Secret Mantra vehicle. Thus it was said. From "Great Illumination of All-Illuminating Bindus." Chapter Forty-Five, which summarizes the divisions of vehicles. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets asked: O! O! Bhagavan Vajradhara! Please explain the meaning of the views, meditations, conduct, and results of each vehicle, as well as their nature, definitive terms, distinctions, and similar examples! Thus he asked. The Teacher replied: Vajradhara, listen carefully! The nature of the view should be understood from its individual distinctions. The definitive meaning of the view, the nature of self-aware wisdom, is unbiased wisdom. The definitive term for view is: because it has become the ultimate limit of true knowledge, it is called view. There are two distinctions: true view and untrue view. True view is Atiyoga. Untrue view is Anuyoga and below. There are two examples of view: the example of true view is like the appearance of realgar. There are eight examples of untrue view. Son of lineage, listen well! Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are like streams of water and new moons. The examples of Bodhisattvas are like space, illusions, and the non-existent appearances of hair whorls and water moons. Kriya is like a king and his subjects. Yoga is like the example of brothers and friends. Mahayoga is like the flourishing power of a king. Anuyoga is like the equal union of male and female. Ati is like a great garuda soaring in the sky. Thus it was said. Again he asked: O! O! Bhagavan Vajradhara! Please explain the terms that represent them. Thus he asked. The Teacher replied: In all the tantras and agamas that I have taught, the definitive terms of view, and the terms called tenets, and the terms of true definition, and ultimate and final, and whatever result may occur, are all collected as terms representing them. The individual circumstances should be understood. O! O! Great Bodhisattva! If one speaks of the duality of grasper and grasped, it is said to be the view of the Shravakas. If one says that because there is grasping, there is no grasped, it is said to be the view of the Pratyekabuddhas. Speaking of mind and the nature of mind, and speaking of ultimate truth and conventional truth, is said to be the view of the Bodhisattvas. For those who agree on all ultimate truths, desiring the three wisdoms, it is said to be the view of Kriya. Desiring two parts is the view of Upa Yoga.
