In the meditation without abandoning or grasping, why is it said that there is no discord and no arising? If the yogi is not distracted, why is it said that there is no action and no cessation? How is the teaching of non-attachment, which does not become a bondage? Please explain, Omniscient Teacher. The Omniscient Teacher said: In all aspects of the three times, what arises primordially without birth or death, all appearances, attachments, and discriminations, from whatever appears as the Dharmakaya, where would abandoning, grasping, or effortful mind arise? Since it does not change into something else and abides in emptiness, there is no discordant characteristic whatsoever. Now, Vajrasattva, listen again: All of space and characteristics, in order to know the meaning of not being established on the ground, self-illumination has no discrimination towards objects. All that is pure and impure, because there is no rejection or establishment whatsoever, there is no distraction of abiding or enjoying. There is no arising or entering, so there is no need to meditate. Since there is no effort, it is the most excellent of conduct. Now listen again to the essence of the union: Because self and other are not established from the beginning, all that is to be done and can be done, tames the six realms of beings and the Sugatas. Whatever conduct is primordially abiding in the Dharmakaya, there is no distinction of any characteristic, and liberation is certain in the very act of doing. Naturally, there is no taking or abandoning, so how could it become a bondage? Great Perfection is most wondrous, from the Tantra of the Wheel of Spontaneous Bliss, the Essence of Meaning, the chapter on Vajrasattva Eliminating Mental Discrimination, the seventeenth. Vajrasattva again asked: For those who have experience of Samadhi, view, meditation, and conduct are demons of experience. Please explain, King of Equality. Having heard the meaning of what he asked, he spoke to the assembled retinue: In Samadhi, post-meditation, and Bardo, appearances are light, sounds are sounds, fearful forms and deceptive falsehoods, if known as the view, are the supreme path. Now listen again to the essence of the union: When the supreme yogi enters into meditation, from the dark clouds of night, the sunrise at dawn is very clear. The virtuous and non-virtuous actions of sentient beings of the three realms, he knows completely, both before and after. At that time, the demon of compassion enters the heart, and the suffering of compassion for sentient beings arises. Abandoning Samadhi and diligently working for the benefit of others, therefore, one falls under the control of demons. Now Vajrasattva, listen again: Enemies arise in empty space, showing various Sugata dharmas, a pure land adorned with ornaments, and a pleasing sound,

Zha Tho Jue. Abandoning Samadhi, one sings and dances. Ignorance arises, a rare joyful mind. Attachment arises to it, losing the experience. Joyful excitement, falling by being deceived by demons. I also listen to the essence of the collection. Whatever meditation experience or dream may be. Frightful forms and other non-virtuous things. Remaining in the natural state becomes sinful. Abandoning Samadhi, one bows down in sorrow. Unpleasantness, suffering, and misery arise. At that time, one becomes weary of work. Like a mute person, one wanders alone. Falling under the control of the demon of form. Again, Vajrasattva, listen. Even in experiences and dreams. Showing pleasing forms. Showing all the virtues and sins of the three times. Speaking to others, it becomes true. The demon of self-pride dwells. Abandoning Samadhi, one goes to the village. In the middle, half true and half untrue. In the end, everything said is false. Deception, falling by deceiving oneself with falsehood. Now also, listen to the essence of the collection. The demon of view is those. Because this place is not recognized as a wrong path. Attachment to appearances, forms, etc. What use is the demon when the mind of the object is like a lamp? From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Essence of Wonderful Meaning, the Wheel of Spontaneous Bliss, the eighteenth chapter, which teaches the demon of the yogi's view. Now also, Vajrasattva, listen. The demon of clarity, where the five senses sink. The demon of bliss, where there is unconsciousness and dullness. The demon of distraction from conditions, the demon of non-thought. The demons of scattering and non-movement arise. Now also, listen to the essence of the collection. Desiring to quickly accomplish Samadhi. Practicing for a long time without attaining the measure. The demon of intoxication and purification enters. Falling asleep under the control of ignorance. Abandoning clarity, sinking and awakening. That is, by effort, Samadhi is lost. Without seeking, good and bad dreams arise. Therefore, one is deceived by the demon of sinking. Again, listen to the essence of the collection. Because self-awareness is not realized as Dharmakaya. Wisdom is obscured by the power of ignorance. The demon of non-remembrance enters. Dwelling in meditation, dullness destroys bliss. Without self-awareness, stillness sinks. Without insight, one is separated from meaning. Practicing without meaning, one is deceived by demons. Therefore, cherish the oral instructions with lineage. Now also, Bodhisattvas of the retinue, listen. Not liking to be alone, but liking to gather. Caused by other conditions, demons enter. Abandoning Samadhi, one is attached to the various objects of right and wrong.
