Wisdom dawns. Vajrasattva speaks of the supreme fruit. The essence of the fruit is primordially existent, Vajrasattva says it is attained through realization. For example, like the horn of a water buffalo. Similarly, like a snake and so on. Primordially, it is devoid of grasping and being grasped, unconditioned. The inherent nature mistakes grasping and being grasped as conditioned. One's own grasping and being grasped, pure and unconditioned, through wisdom, there is no attainment through abandonment, this is the supreme fruit. With that, there is Buddha; without that, there is no sentient being. Having taught that realization, one is free from the movement of the mind. If not even a particle of the thought of difference arises, then the way to attain the ultimate fruit is like that. Initially, the wisdom of realization is self-arisen, like the sun abiding in ten parts, one part is wisdom, nine parts are ordinary, gradually without abandoning or cultivating, the ten parts cease, abiding in the ten parts. The way to attain the secret mantra fruit is like that. Just as darkness is dispelled when light arises, having realized non-duality, grasping and being grasped cease. Having realized spontaneous accomplishment, the search for action ceases. Having realized oneness, hope and fear cease. Having realized equanimity, affirmation and negation cease. Having realized the fruit, Vajrasattva said. That is not obtained from elsewhere either. One's own nature is primordially abiding in that way. Having realized the abiding nature, one attains stability. Know that the way to attain the ultimate fruit is like that. Having known oneself, others should be like this: the teacher who shows this true meaning, if one can abide together, there is no need to mention service. Or, having asked the place and direction of residence, one makes offerings, prostrations, and praises in that direction. To the village or dwelling where one previously resided, one actually makes circumambulations and offerings. Remembering or seeing, illness is cured and the body is light. Remembering past conduct, faith arises. If the thought of separation never arises, lead them to a solitary place and teach them a word or two. Prolong it and from the teachings of caution, if one asks for sudden, profound teachings, that is not the teaching. Naturally, teach by combining with the vessel. This is the fifth chapter, the letter of the way to attain the fruit. Homage to the naturally wrathful one of equanimity! The fruit is superior by five superiorities. Not abandoned, not dwelling, not dependent, completely attained. That fruit is free from all terms,

Since it is spontaneously accomplished without effort, it is supremely excellent.380.4 The king of fruits is especially superior and great. It is superior because it is without action and not compounded. It is superior because it is without hope and fear, and afflictions are weak. It is superior because there is no self and other, and no grasping. It is superior because it is without cause and conditions, and fearless of antidotes.380.5 It is superior because the mind meets reality, and non-duality is clear. The essence of the nature of reality, primordial purity, and non-duality is understood. Self-sovereign, self-established, it does not rely on others. That great and powerful,380.6 unrivaled fruit is superior because it establishes everything with the pinnacle of wisdom. The essence of the nature of reality is primordial purity and non-duality. Because it is not thought of in the mind, and not made by the intellect, the fruit without autonomy arises spontaneously.381381.1 It is great. Where it has not arisen, where it has not gone, in its own place, self-liberated, the fruit is the supreme of bliss. That fruit free from the movement of the mind is said by Vajrasattva to be the supreme of fruits. As long as the movement of the mind381.2 has not ceased, that person who practices desiring Buddhahood is not said to be liberated from the edge of samsara. Therefore, the fruit of Dzogchen is especially superior. That fruit free from the movement of the mind381.3 is said to be the fruit of Dzogchen. That fruit where the movement of the mind has not ceased is not Dzogchen, but Kyerim (generation stage). Know the distinction between Kye and Dzog there. The fruit that is not free from hope and fear381.4 is Kyerim. If hope and fear cease, then the fruit is Dzogchen. The fruit that is not free from grasping is Kyerim. The fruit that is free from grasping is Dzogchen. The Dharma of sentient beings below Anu is the Dharma of the mind.381.5 Ati Dzogchen is the Dharma of the reality of the Buddha. Know the two, provisional and definitive. Therefore, the fruit Dzogchen is superior and great. In the self-arisen wisdom that has always been present, Dzogchen is the teaching of the wisdom of realization.381.6 In the perfection of the abiding of the reality of the nature of reality, the transformation of the reality of mind is great. Because the nature of reality has always been one, it is perfect. One realization, free from grasping, is great.382382.1 That which is free from action and spontaneously accomplished is said to be perfect and great. That fruit accomplished after action and effort, although it is perfect, is said not to be great. Abiding in the mind of an ordinary person,382.2 it is said not to be perfect or great. The reality of
