Even if meditation is done, ignorance increases. Self-awareness and mindfulness clarify wisdom. Because it is grasped by view, it is the Dharmakaya. The result is the unchanging realm of wisdom. That is also the essence of gathering, listen. If the demon of agitation and non-conceptualization arises, because there is no instruction, one is happy to desire. Abandoning meaning, one does worldly deeds. With attachment to acceptance and rejection, one is attached to objects. In order to abandon, by grasping the meaning of awareness, it vanishes like mist in the rising sun. Confidence grasps the Dharma realm as the supreme place. If the demon of distraction and non-movement arises, because one has not become accustomed to meaning, subtle streams of awareness, feeling, and memory flow. Meaningless thieves repeatedly appear. It is grasped by the dharani of non-forgetting. Discursive thoughts are self-pacified, awareness is clear. All are the Dharmakaya, the supreme result. These four demons of meditation also arise from the absence of higher vision. For the confident and definite yogi, there is nothing to meditate on, and all demons are empty. Realizing that enjoyment is self-liberated is play. That is also the essence of gathering, listen. When the demon of bad retinue and mental disturbance appears, Despising the retinue, being strict with the retinue. Desiring competition, thinking there is no satisfaction. Disgusted with faith, slandering and cursing, generating hatred. Suppressing compassion, severing the heart of connection. The demon knows it is the Dharmakaya, From which Abandoning and discarding, not even a speck exists. Again, listen to the essence of gathering. The demons of behavior are also those, If appearance exists, then demons also exist. Therefore, sever the connection with the environment. Without connection, demons do not arise in the mind. When the demon of experience attachment appears, For the bliss of non-discriminating attachment, There is increase and decrease, there is no certainty, Therefore, grasping the main thing without prophesying. With superior vision and mindfulness, possessing confidence. For the main thing, like the sky, unchanging. Not regarding as superior, purifying the two obscurations. Now again, Vajrasattva, listen. When the demon of desire and hypocrisy appears, Without instructions, showing the appearance of practice. Telling the poor to retreat. Deceiving the faithful fools with skillful means. Craving small things, Hypocrisy is a great sin. The foundation itself is not adorned, cherishing honesty. Without desire, free from hypocrisy. Desireless, possessing confidence is the supreme result. Now again, Vajrasattva, listen. When the demon of craving and attachment to bliss appears, Desire burning and expecting Bodhi. With one's own attachment, cravingྲིད། Not knowing its meaning, one cannot awaken. In self-awareness, there is no need for power. Knowing desire and enjoyment as the Dharmakaya that can overcome adverse conditions. Unobstructed wisdom is the Buddha. Listen again to the essence of the gathering. Merit gives rise to jealousy and hatred. To answer this, the ignorant one, slandering the wise, goes to hell. Fundamentally realizing, one is free from slander. Hatred is the sign of self-liberation, the nature of Dharma. At that time, know there is no demon. Listen again to the essence of the retinue. When arrogance and clinging arise as demons, They disparage others and slander the Dharma in return. Distinguishing between big and small, and stealing the teachings, Those with little merit fall into hell. Oral instructions, well-hidden, can subdue, With faith, self-awareness, and confidence, Now, in this very moment, see the truth. These are also distinctions of demons, Arising in those without view, They are the qualities of all who possess the teachings, The Buddha's teachings are eighteen in number. The meaning of the discussion on the minds of all Buddhas gathering into one Dharmakaya. From the Tantra of the Precious Source of All Qualities, the sixteenth chapter, which shows the signs and results of subduing the demons of experience, is complete. Furthermore, among the assembled gathering, Those qualities that turn into faults, Are what the All-Knowing Teacher proclaimed. Prophecy, clairvoyance, and miraculous powers, Great bliss, strength, and finding treasures, Seeing the unseen and knowing without learning. These eight establish certainty. Worldly, transcendent, and non-transcendent deities, If others make prophecies, It will not succeed and will create various difficulties, Self-deception interrupts and wanders in samsara. Clairvoyance that remembers the past and future, Is because past habitual tendencies arise, It is the demon of joy and displeasure, At that time, attachment and aversion lead the mind astray. Listen again to the essence of the gathering. Even if one possesses swift miraculous powers, The consciousness riding on the wind is a demon, Again, in all pleasures, Even if the body can go, Separated from the body, it is of no help in the bardo. Even if bliss blazes in the body, The demon of clinging desire is a demon, The body is only a temporary connection, Because it cannot overcome adverse conditions, it is extremely mistaken. Even if one has the power to subdue others, If one does not have the power to subdue ignorance, The power of arrogance increases afflictions, Therefore, one only falls. If one finds treasures and the wealth of others, Then one is self-deceived by the demon of clinging.
