Half true, half untrue, ultimately all that is said is a lie. Therefore, it is an obstacle, falling into the lower realms. Now listen again to the essence of the Compendium. The demons of the gods are also those, because they do not recognize this place as a wrong path. Appearances, forms, etc., are attachments, the mind enters the object, how to use the demon? The Great Perfection, the Compendium of all Definitive Meanings, from the Tantra of Wisdom Equal to Space, the Seventieth Chapter, Showing the Demon of View. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, the demon of the five senses sinking and becoming clear, the demon of unconscious stupor and bliss, the demon of not thinking about the need for conditions, the demons of distraction and immovability arise. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, when the demon of sinking and becoming clear arises, one cultivates diligently and earnestly without meaning, sinking clearly by the power of faith, the antidote is separated from the meaning of clarity, the three sleeps are mixed, and ignorance disappears. It is said that sleep dissolves into the realm of Dharma-nature, dissolving into the realm of the Buddha's wisdom. Now listen again to the essence of the Compendium, a faithful person without instructions, wishing to quickly achieve Samadhi, cultivates for a long time without grasping the measure, faults of the elements arise, the demon of faith enters, sinking clearly. Sleep arises by the power of ignorance, and finally good and bad dreams arise, hope and fear ultimately fall, wandering in Samsara. Therefore, in order to counteract this, if you want to be clear, remove the sinking, the deliberately made Samadhi is lost, becoming a slave to faith, falling into the animal realm. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, when the demon of stupor and bliss arises, one does not recognize the Dharma-body with transmission, awareness is darkness, not Vipassanā. Even if one cultivates, ignorance increases, the wisdom of self-awareness and mindfulness is clear, because it is held by the view, it appears as truth. The result is the unchanging realm of wisdom. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, not recognizing the self-aware Dharma-body, because the wisdom Dharma-body is not seen, wisdom is obscured by the power of ignorance. Therefore, the Alaya is not prophesied. At that time, the demon of unconsciousness enters, abiding in cultivation, stupor loses bliss, awareness is darkness, lacking Vipassanā. Because there is no self-awareness, abiding sinks. No matter how much one cultivates, it is separated from meaning, there is no bliss that liberates from suffering. With an ignorant and deluded mind, even if one cultivates, it is meaningless, deceived by the demon. Therefore, the instructions with transmission are precious. Now listen again, Vajrasattva

If the wild, non-conceptual demon arises, because there are no instructions, one delights in gatherings. Abandoning one's own benefit, one engages in worldly affairs, creating various attachments of acceptance and rejection. One grasps meaning with prior and subsequent knowledge, like the sun rising on a barren woman, it is in vain. One is certain of the supreme state of the Dharmadhatu. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Having claimed to be a pure yogi, one does not delight in solitude but delights in gatherings. People who strive for the eight worldly dharmas, only gain certainty in words. Influenced by others, demons enter, abandoning samadhi and acting according to the mind. One becomes attached to various objects of knowledge. Because there is no non-conceptuality, afflictions become wild. One does not look to the Dharma but seeks fame. Through attachments of acceptance and rejection, one disturbs one's own mind. Because of straying from samadhi, therefore, one is deceived by the wandering demon. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Wherever the demon of many distractions arises, because one has not become accustomed to the meaning, subtle awareness, feeling, and memory flow. Therefore, one often hates the thief. One does not forget, seized by the dharani of memory. The nature of conceptual thought, awareness is clear. All is the supreme fruit of the Dharmakaya. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Because one is a first-time yogi, one has not repeatedly practiced, and because one is not suitable for shamatha, attachment naturally subsides, and one is separated from experience. The demon of the distracting thief enters, grasping at any word, thinking about it in the mind, and losing immovability. Therefore, one's own mind is lost. Because faith is small, there are no instructions. Because diligence is small, one is separated from experience. The increasing and decreasing thief arises again and again. Because one does not possess definite certainty, one falls, deceived by the subtle demon. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. These demons of meditation, also, only arise in those who have no definitive meaning. They cannot harm those who possess lineage. If one meditates on what is not understood, it becomes a demon. The Great Perfection, definitive meaning, all are included. From the tantra equal to the wisdom of space, the chapter on teaching the demon of meditation, the meaning is the same. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. The demon of activity, busyness, and enjoyment, the demon of delighting in experience and attachment to places, the demon of learning, qualities, and distraction, evil companions, and the demon of mental confusion will arise. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. If the demon of busyness and enjoyment arises, without instructions, one acts hypocritically. One desires the praise of people, grasping at the thoughts of others. One falls into meaningless self-grasping and jealousy. These.
