Nas. Ma rig, the basis of the five senses, is therefore not the root of samsara. It is like the sun setting, but the sky is not yet dark. The meaning of the Great Perfection is that all Buddhas' minds are gathered into one Dharmakaya. From the Tantra of the Precious Source of All Qualities: The chapter on not predicting the basis of samsara, the sixth. Then, to the assembled retinue, how did the delusion arise? That delusion without a basis for delusion is definitely ignorance, the gathering of the six above and below. Because ignorance is generated as the cause, it is like a cataract appearing in the eye. Coemergent ignorance ripens into three. Then, from within the tube of ignorance, a form similar to the cause, neither male nor female nor both, arises miraculously. The fire of the world and ignorance increase. After six months, they ripen into male and female. That combination gives rise to the six sense fields and the five poisons. From that, the four types of birth complete the six realms of sentient beings. The initial basis of delusion arises from that. Listen to the essence of that gathering. By grasping at what is not there as being there, delusion arises from the basis of delusion. For example, when a stump is seen as a person, the stump is not a person. How is it seen as a person when it is looked at? Likewise, how is the basis looked at? Through the sudden arising of conditions, mind and habit become the alaya. Listen to the essence of that gathering. By recognizing what is not there as being there, it is known by those who are deluded, but because the Buddhas do not know it, there is no delusion in the basis of reality. Delusion arises from the sudden mind. Like grasping a rope as a snake, because it arises from that, one wanders in samsara. Listen to that, Vajrasattva. At the time when you are now dwelling, there are three imputations on the basis of delusion. Because of ignorance, not knowing how it arises, it therefore dwells without beginning or end. If that is not known until the end, then all the mantra practitioners without true meaning will not be liberated from the four rivers. Resolve the suffering of samsara. Therefore, without confidence, one wanders constantly. The meaning of all the Buddhas' minds is that the Dharmakaya is gathered into one. From the Tantra of the Precious Source of All Qualities: The chapter on showing the arising of samsara, the seventh. Then, Vajrasattva, in order to benefit the assembled retinue, asked Samantabhadra as follows: The extreme of transforming the mind into the opposite.

How do the eternalist and annihilationist err? Holding onto a mere fraction, the nine vehicles, How do they err from their own ground? Please explain, All-Knowing Teacher. Having heard the meaning of that request, He spoke to the assembled gathering: The example of the eternalist's error Is like mistaking medicine for poison. Representing the meaning of the six distinctions, Based on the unchanging essence, They err by clinging to colored and shaped things. False asceticism leads to falling into hell. By examining with intelligence, self is not established. That itself is the pervasive dharmakāya. There is no other Buddha apart from that. Listen also to the essence of the gathering. The distinctions of the annihilationist are: Colorless and shapeless, the basis of annihilation, They err by thinking there is no cause and effect, before and after. Denouncing, they fall into the great hell. It is not annihilation, but there is awareness. Therefore, there is no error in the ground. It abides in the expanse of self-arisen wisdom. Listen also to the essence of the gathering. Even if led astray by a monkey-like one, The ground itself does not fall to the extremes of eternalism or annihilation. By modifying and transforming, the ground does not change. Therefore, cherish the pith instructions that possess the teachings. The meaning of the intention of all the Buddhas is discussed as converging into one dharmakāya. From the tantra of the "Precious Source of All Qualities," the eighth chapter, which explains the ways of erring of the non-Buddhists, is complete. The All-Knowing Teacher also said: Listen, I will explain how the nine vehicles err on a mere fraction of the essential ground. The distinction of the Hearers' error is: The basis of the objects of subtle and coarse appearances, The person is without self, but there is a self of phenomena. One-sided peace does not attain liberation. Because there is no higher seeing, beings are self-bound. Without abandoning appearances, understanding their meaning, Without attachment, the appearance of objects is the realm of phenomena. Now listen also to Vajrasattva, The conceptualization of the ground of being of sentient beings, Knowing the above and below, they desire an instant. Intelligence, independent, errs in an instant. Mistaking permanence and impermanence as superimpositions, The dharmakāya, self-aware, is unchanging. Listen also to the essence of the gathering. The tenets of the Madhyamikas, Based on the essence being without inherent existence, They err by clinging to emptiness with object and mind as the basis. They fall into the birthplace of nothingness. They mistake emptiness as being no different from annihilation. Knowing emptiness and awareness is the dharmakāya. Listen also to the essence of the gathering. The correct boundary is the three aspects. By understanding only a fraction, the ground is not known. Therefore, not seeing the definitive meaning, In words it is true, but in meaning it is mistaken.
