Just as there is no darkness in the center of the sun, Similarly, even without meditating on the realized meaning, The expanse of the unborn Bodhi Dharmakaya, Has no fear of obscurations and veils. Like the roar of a lion, Scattering small wild animals, For the yogi who possesses this meaning, Inferior views and fabrications are crushed. Like a lotus that grows in mud, Yet is not stained by impurities, being very clear, Similarly, although the yogi has a body, They are not stained by obscurations, wisdom is clear. Like a Chakravartin king, Who subdues the four continents and subcontinents, Similarly, by realizing this meaning, The powers of the ten perfections, Are spontaneously accomplished without seeking their nature. If the yogi holds that confidence, Even without practicing it, Knowing one, one knows all, What need is there to mention the result of Buddhahood? Since there is no other meaning than that, In the spontaneously perfect Dharmakaya, The suffering of birth and death does not occur, Like gold, it does not change from its base. Having understood the meaning of these words, In order to realize one's own mind, With one-pointed faith and reverence, Repeating the words, one is delighted by the meaning. The essential essence of the Great Perfection view, From the Tantra of the Vast Expanse of Space, The third chapter, which specifically explains understanding through expression. Then, to the King of All-Knowing (Skt. Samantaprabha-raja), The assembled retinue asked about the meaning, Of the nature of reality, self-arisen, the way things are, What distinguishes the example and the meaning? What is the reason for having faith? How is the mind of Samantabhadra realized? Having heard the meaning of the questions, he replied: I will explain the difference between example and meaning, Wherever space pervades, sentient beings, Have no awareness of space. The nature of mind is unobscured, awareness is clear. Therefore, space is an example of Bodhi. In the element of wind that supports, Wisdom wind pervades Bodhi. Memory and awareness are insubstantial, an example of Bodhi. Manifestly enlightened in the expanse of Dharmata. Water that gathers is pervaded by mind, Water itself is not the substance of Bodhi. Therefore, awareness is the water of mind, Manifestly enlightened in the Bodhi body. On the earth that solidifies and supports, Although the essence of one's own mind is insubstantial, It gives rise to everything, an example of Bodhi. Unchanging and solid, therefore manifestly enlightened. On this fire that is warm and balanced, Although one's own mind has no basis in fire, It burns afflictions, shown as an example, In the fire of Bodhi

Manifest Enlightenment. These five elements themselves, Though not the ultimate Buddha, Yet, being the Buddha by designation, There is no acceptance or rejection of this. Now listen to the essence of gathering. In the center of Lake Manasarovar, a fire blazes, Having seen it clearly, water cannot, Harm it for an eon. Likewise, ignorance, with wisdom, If the beginning, end, and root are not severed, Then, since the qualities of Nirvana do not arise, How can Samsara be suppressed? The great Garuda king, with great power, When appearing in the precious sky, The ocean itself transforms into nectar. Likewise, through the Guru's instructions, Just by realizing the self-born essence, Suffering itself arises as great bliss. Those symbolized by words and letters, Are all the teachings designated by names. To dispel errors, since it is shown through examples, The distinction between example and meaning is extremely important. The innermost essence of the Great Perfection's view, From the Tantra of the Vast Expanse of Space, The fourth chapter, which shows that it is not a symbolic example meaning. Then, to the assembled gathering, The King of All-Knowing Mind, Spoke the distinctions of meaning: Even Buddhas are revered by sentient beings. If not realized during the time of sentient beings, How can the five poisons be naturally liberated? Cherish post-meditation even during meditative absorption. If the view is not understood in post-meditation, Then meditating in sessions will not lead to Buddhahood. If you do not know the instructions for the four times, Which are realized in reliance on the body, How can inseparable wisdom arise? Now listen, great heroes. In the Bardo between birth and death, Request the instructions of prophetic conditions. In the Bardo between Samsara and Nirvana, Realize the natural state of Dharmata. In the Bardo between object and mind, Cut off the outer straying obscurations. In the Bardo between meditative absorption and post-meditation, Adopt discriminating thoughts as wisdom. In the Bardos of existence, The Buddha King, the Wisdom Body, For all Bodhisattvas, Realizing this definitive meaning is especially excellent. Now listen to the essence of gathering. By realizing the meaning, grasping thoughts subside, Like the sun rising, there is no darkness. By realizing this prophecy, thoughts flee, Samsara, Nirvana, and arising all destroy discriminating thoughts. Hold onto abandoning and gathering without error, Turn eternalism and nihilism into dust. Attach clinging and grasping like scattering chaff. Holding onto good and bad dissipates like clouds, Buddhas and sentient beings become one.
