The Third Chapter, the Chapter on Special Qualities. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. For all sentient beings in the six realms, The essence of self-arisen wisdom, Exists without realization or non-realization. An example to illustrate its suchness, Like a garuda chick in space, A lion cub, a lotus, and a silver stone, It cannot be grasped and is not affected by conditions. In the womb, the Dharmakaya wisdom resides, If grasped, it is suppressed by inferior views. As soon as it is pointed out, it is the wisdom body, From within the afflictions, self-arisen clarity arises. Effortlessly, naturally, it has always existed, Therefore, the ground is without change. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Although the Buddha's intention is difficult to fathom, In order for sentient beings to understand its meaning with their minds, It is necessary to have the key instructions of the essential ground, Whatever is done, self-arisen wisdom arises. It is without beginning and without end, Apart from this present awareness, There is no better place to go. Have faith that the Dharmakaya has a face and eyes, Therefore, since samsara and nirvana are inseparable, It is superior to all outer and inner phenomena, Earlier than both Buddha and sentient beings, The unseeable essence is the basis of all. Like the sky, the sun, a precious jewel, The earth, the ocean, and the king of mountains, Without examining the edge and the center, Observe your own mind. Clear and unclouded, it is the Dharmakaya, Qualities arise spontaneously. For the sake of creating samsara and nirvana, it is the basis of all. Because it is unmoving, it is inconceivable. Because it is unchanging, there is no gathering or scattering. Again, listen to the essence of accumulation. A practitioner with pure yoga, By understanding the meaning of the mind's own nature, Is the Samantabhadra Dharmakaya right now, In a lowly body, he is a Buddha. The Great Perfection cuts off the root of samsara. From the continuum of the unborn awareness of the Dharmakaya, The chapter that reveals the meaning, the reality of Dharmata, is the fourth chapter. Vajrasattva asked again: From the nature of Dharmata, the essence of reality, From where do the eight consciousnesses of samsara arise? How are the wrong views of externalist heretics and, The secret, profound mantras mistaken? What are the faults of foolish meditation? Where do karmic obscurations and samsara reside? Please explain, All-Illuminating King. Hearing the request, he replied: Those who arise from that mistake, Are the six extremes and two at the beginning. The Alaya consciousness, the collection of eight consciousnesses, Is also one's own mind and not the Dharmakaya. Increasing upwards and confusing downwards, samsara and nirvana arise. Listen also to the essence of accumulation. Like the radiance of the rising sun, The first knowledge

Alas! Not prophesied. Although the nature of reality is my skill, It is not prophesied, therefore it is subject to conditions. In the beginning of the arising of samsara and nirvana, With the basis of delusion, etc., Eight kinds of delusions arise from ignorance. With the four conditions, grasping and apprehended are conceived, Because the cause and condition are combined, The essence of self-arisen awareness is determined. Like a blind person, self-obscured, Wandering in samsara due to unknowing delusion. Now, Vajrasattva, listen! With the five gates and the eight aggregates, Like holding distinctions with thoughts, The habits of samsara are strengthened. Therefore, the eight consciousness aggregates, Are impure dharmas of samsara. The teaching of transformation into dharma, Is merely guiding, inducing, and euphemistic. Therefore, the alaya is conditioned, Destroyed by the antidote base, And serves as the basis for the accumulation of habits, Therefore, impure samsara arises. The Great Perfection cuts off the root of samsara. From the Dharmakaya, the unborn lineage of awareness, the fifth chapter showing where samsara first arises. Now, Vajrasattva, listen! With the two, wrong views and heretics, And the outer pure secret mantra, The delusions of the Great Secret, I will speak, listen! Based on the uncertain nature of reality, Deluded by believing in the absence of cause and effect of karma. Based on the unchanging meaning, Deluded by believing that color is permanent. Now, Vajrasattva, listen! Meeting with the bad teachings of the lower tantras, With the four views that are self-righteous, From the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas up to, Yoga and below, my words, Because of clinging to characteristics, they do not realize me. In the tantras and teachings of the Great Yoga, By seeking me, samsara cannot find me. Because I am not found, appearances are confused. The ten vehicles that desire liberation, From knowing the nature of appearances, The essence of the meaning of one's own mind, Because the base is not known, they are deluded, Not realizing, not liberating, extremely bound. The Great Perfection cuts off the root of samsara. From the Dharmakaya, the unborn lineage of awareness, the sixth chapter explaining the delusions of the lower vehicle. Now, Vajrasattva, listen! The nature of self-arisen mind, Because of not realizing, deliberately meditating on the five poisons, Like a tree of suffering from poisonous causes. With the three kinds of renounced thoughts, Without realizing the essence of one's own mind, Those who want to meditate, are truly pitiable! Without training the
