Is. By following the tracks, one finds the elephant. By seeking the meaning from the aspect of the mind, one finds the self-aware king, wisdom. Having found it, one is free from the clinging of the mind. Free from clinging, without mind, is the self-aware body. That meaning is inseparable from the essence of enlightenment. Samadhi free from mind constantly abides. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. Wanting to become a Buddha in the mind is like an old maid marrying her son. Saying that appearances are the mind is like turning copper into gold. Therefore, having mastered the scriptures and found the meaning, having realized the meaning of the self-born essence, self-awareness awakens, and the self-mind is annihilated. Therefore, the Dharmakaya is immutable. The chapter on explaining that the self-mind is not the ultimate meaning, from the Great Perfection Definitive Meaning Gathering, the thirty-third chapter is completed. Then, for the sake of the meaning of the gathering, Vajrasattva asked the meaning: How are appearances viewed as the Dharmadhatu? What is the immutable abiding nature of the meaning? Please explain the fundamental definitive understanding that is free from extremes. Having heard this question, the all-knowing teacher said: The self-born Dharmakaya is unique, and all qualities arise from it, like a precious jewel. That is the basis of all spontaneous accomplishment. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. The cause of samsara is clinging and conceptualization, do not let your mind be swayed by doctrines that conform to the scriptures. The sense faculties are always distracted outwards, clinging tightly to the eight worldly dharmas. Like four rivers without fear, it is the fundamental basis for wandering in samsara. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Subtle and coarse objects should be abandoned with antidotes, abandon distinctions and clinging, abandon the perverted views of existence and non-existence, and cause and effect. Because the mind needs to change the root, it is said that the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are mistaken. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. In order to gather all dharmas into the mind, wanting non-duality of object and mind, believing that the nature of mind is self-manifesting, believing that the nature of mind is emptiness, because in any case they do not acknowledge it, with the views of Madhyamaka and Cittamatra, error arises from the conceptualization of collecting. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. The external five elements, because they are externally produced, are not wisdom. Therefore, not abandoning them cannot harm, not gathering them into the mind cannot benefit. Therefore, if there is no clinging to them, whatever appears in the field of appearances, without adding or subtracting, is naturally clear, that is called the Dharmadhatu.

Thus. Chapter Thirty-Four, Showing the Undefiled Dharmadhatu. Then, to the assembled retinue, Samantabhadra, the All-Knowing One, Spoke the unchanging state of reality. The inner and outer dharmas pervading the Dharmakaya, All that is without beginning or end, Serving as the support for the place and basis, Is the single, self-arisen thigle. This is the sacred mandala Of the hearts of all the Sugatas. Now also, listen, Vajrasattva, To the unchanging essence of self-arisenness. If altered by mind, the basis does not change. Therefore, it cannot be altered by conditions. Unfabricated, primordially the basis of all, The self-arisen essence-body, The root basis of all dharmas, Is spoken by all Buddhas of the three times. Therefore, there is no change in the basis. Now also, listen, Vajrasattva, Because it is self-arisen and spontaneously accomplished, The sole Buddha, the Dharmakaya, This is the cause of both samsara and nirvana. When not realized, it is called samsara, When realized, it is called nirvana. On the basis, there are no Buddhas or sentient beings. Therefore, in the state of non-duality, oneness, All abide in its essence. Now also, listen to the essence of the assembly, Because samsara and nirvana are prior to the basis, Unfabricated by mind, there is no samsara or nirvana. If habitual tendencies are not strengthened, there is no arising. Since there is nothing, it is the cause of all. The self-arisen, realized Bhagavan, Completes itself naturally without traversing the bhumis. Not relying on the path, it is separate from the path. It is not non-existent, it is wisdom itself. The Great Perfection, equality, pervades all. The great dharma of all dharmas, All is spontaneously accomplished in essence. All the dharmas born from it arise. Unmistaken, without conceptualization, it is in accordance with the basis. Therefore, with scriptural authority, by the power of conditions, In the intention of mind and reality being one, Knowing the basis is called realization. Now also, listen to the essence of the assembly, Because the Dharma King is greatly praised, All arising of samsara and nirvana, Arises naturally without effort. Therefore, it is called the transformation of the basis of all, Spoken by Samantabhadra himself. The Great Perfection, Definitive Meaning. From the Gathering of the Great Perfection, Chapter Thirty-Five, Showing the Unchanging State of Reality. Then, to the assembly of the retinue, The All-Knowing Teacher spoke: The meaning of being unobscured by inner obscurations, For this present Dharmakaya, Because it is uncompounded, there is no permanence or annihilation, The aspect of wisdom.
