If yoga is not explained meaningfully, it becomes a fault. If the distinctions between the Great and Small Vehicles are not made, the order of Great and Small will become meaningless. If the necessary purpose is not explained meaningfully, for the Great Perfection without effort, it becomes a fault of meaninglessness. If the meaning of the words themselves is not explained, the words that clearly explain the tantras in order, will become a fault of not directly understanding their meaning. Thus, by abandoning the faults mentioned earlier, all qualities will be perfected. This great tantra of perfected qualities, is the great secret of all Buddhas. Who is skilled in this method of explanation? How does the yogi, with their own experience and wisdom, comprehend the essential instructions from each meaning of the tantra? And teach them to the fortunate individuals of the future. Who, with the wisdom of their faculties, clearly distinguishes, and is familiar and accustomed to the meaning of the object of focus? This makes the meaning of the words divide the tantras into fragments. Explaining in this way, the meanings will arise. This unsurpassed secret is the essence of essence, it is the tantra that determines the distinctions of the result. The Able One then asked again: "Alas! Blessed One Buddha! These kings of tantras, if the order of explanation is such, how should beings practice? Or is liberation attained without practice? What are the qualities of upholding them? I do not know these." The Perfectly Complete One spoke again: "Listen! Great Unwavering Able One! This is a branch of the unsurpassed secret tantra, the essence of essence. In the order of all tantras, according to the order of faculties, practice is done in some tantras. But in this tantra, there is no practice. By the force of previous habituation, bliss is found in the bardo between two existences. Or, according to the difference of faculties, the highest do not need a bardo, nor two existences. The middling ones are in the dharmata bardo, between two existences. The lowest ones breathe out in the realm of the self-existing Nirmanakaya. The Nirmanakaya liberates their own continuum. Therefore, even without two existences or a bardo, wherever the initial liberation is, it is primordial purity. The one with yoga is that. Whoever upholds this tantra of mine, this is the quality. The fruit of benefiting the world here, and the ground of appearance in the bardo, will surely attain the fruit of the three kayas.

And also enjoy in the pure land. Just by holding this tantra, without practice, without effort, meditation will arise; without learning, one will naturally know all the dharmas; without instruction, one will become familiar with the oral instructions in an instant; without the lama's explanation, one will know the tantras oneself; without generating, just by seeing the yidam, the deities will also appear manifestly. Therefore, rely on this tantra. Any yogi who has great fortune, if endowed with (merit), by holding this, one will attain siddhi, be equal to the Buddha, and enjoy his activities. One will thoroughly sweep away the states of the lower realms and enter the unwavering path of great bliss. Having gained confidence in familiarizing oneself with one's own appearances, one will find fearlessness, inseparable from awareness, floating in the expanse. Secret, supreme secret, unsurpassed. These dharmas are the definitive essence, the innermost secret. Whoever this appears to, he will also receive the empowerment of the Buddhas residing in the three times, and obtain the dharani of unforgetfulness and inseparability in his own mindstream. Thus, in the Great Tantra of the Union of the Sun and Moon, the first chapter is the introduction to the origin of the tantra and the method of explanation. Then, by gestures urging the teaching of how all dharmas, like dreams and illusions, abide in the bardo of self-abiding nature, and how to ascertain all appearances, these were taught. The Blessed One said: Elements, aggregates, ayatanas, faculties, and objects, object-possessors, and consciousnesses, how do they abide, how are they ascertained? The yogi who knows these will gain mastery over all appearances. Who holds those objects? Only the one endowed with yoga knows how to know these elements and so on. The Inconceivable Sage (Maitreya Bodhisattva) again asked: O Blessed One, what are the five elements you spoke of earlier? What is meant by "aggregate"? What are the faculties? What is meant by "ayatana"? What are the objects? What is meant by "object-possessor"? I am confused about these, I am in doubt, and I have not understood the meaning of these. Please, Blessed One, explain them. Then the Blessed One said: O Great Sage, listen. I will explain the meaning of these. There are two elements: the element encompassed by external objects and the element encompassed by internal mind.
