Inspired by various beautiful sounds, instruments, and songs. Then, among them, the Ḍākiṇī named Black Dragon Sound prayed thus: Alas! Possessing great compassion, please arise from samādhi! For all these sentient beings of the three realms who are covered by the darkness of afflictions and ignorance, please reveal the supreme means. Please make the lamp of the teachings remain long in the world! After praying thus, the Bhagavan arose from samādhi and manifested many bodies of the Tathāgata. Some became pure Vajrapāṇi bodies, some became pure peaceful bodies, some became bodies with their respective maṇḍalas, and some became the appearance of father-mother deities. Then, the Ḍākiṇīs were amazed and prayed together thus: Alas, alas! Bhagavan Vajradhara, please speak of the definition of the body! After praying thus, the King of Secret Mantras taught: Alas, alas! Listen, mistresses of the elements! The King of Wisdom cannot be expressed by words, the King of Awareness is beyond words. However, words can express the meanings of things, and I will explain the logic of the inseparable connection between words and meaning. What is the definition of the body? The unchanging meaning is the Vajra Essence Body, the completion in the unborn state is the Effortless Body, the abiding in the unceasing state is the Effortless Body, the separation from expressive words is the Thigle Emptiness Body, the self-manifestation without effort is the Clear Light Bliss Body, the non-existent substance is the Emptiness Non-Grasping Body, the unlimited and impartial is the Wisdom Stable Body. If one realizes this, one abides in the state of great bliss. Thus, one should practice the seven meanings of the body without distraction. The awareness of meaning is an inexhaustible treasure of bliss, and I have attained the great, undefiled enlightenment. Before my non-self, in the indivisible nature of awareness, the knowable is clear, the source of bliss. I am the self-born, great bliss, undefiled body. I enter the light of the body and enjoy the rays of speech. Therefore, I am also called rays of light. I am the non-abiding wisdom, not abiding in any direction. In my body, the world appears clear and great bliss blazes. Therefore, I abide in the pāramitā of skillful means.

The stainless, clear lamp, free from all thoughts. In the thought-free blissful body, samsara and nirvana are clear. From the thought-free, the arising of various phenomena, the unobstructed space of awareness. The all-illuminating mirror of Dharma-nature, the great light. In the state of non-duality, great bliss and clear light are equal. Thus, this is the tantra that reveals the secret. From the Great Tantra of the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror, the sixth chapter, which explains the analogies of ignorance and wisdom. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets requested thus: "O, Bhagavan Vajradhara, please speak the definitive words of Dzogchen." Thus he requested. The King of Power replied: "O, Vajra-holder, listen! The definitive words of the Dzogchen vehicle are: Because awareness is perfected in the state of non-action, it is 'Dzog' (perfection). Because meditation is perfected in the state of non-thought, wisdom is stainlessly perfected, it is 'Dzog'. Because conduct is perfected in the state of non-contrivance, wisdom is vastly perfected, it is 'Dzog'. Because the view is perfected in the state of non-affirming and non-denying, wisdom is non-conceptually perfected, it is 'Dzog'. Because the result is perfected in the state of non-objectification, the twenty-five wisdoms are perfected, it is 'Dzog'. Because body and wisdom are perfected in the center of one's own heart, it is 'Dzog'. Because awareness, insubstantial and clear, is perfected from the state of emptiness, wisdom is perfected, it is 'Dzog'. Because the five lights, unmixed and clear, are perfected from the state of unbornness, it is 'Dzog'. Because emptiness is clear and unscattered, it is 'Chen' (great). Because it appears without action, it is 'Chen'. Because it is clear and without grasping, it is 'Chen'. Because the result is endowed with qualities, it is 'Chen'. Because it is above all vehicles, it is 'Chen'. Because there is no distraction from the meaning of the natural state, it is 'Chen'. Because the lamp of wisdom is the pinnacle of all views, it is 'Chen'. Because clarity and non-distraction are the pinnacle of all meditations, it is 'Chen'. Because self-arisen and uncontrived conduct is the pinnacle of all actions, it is 'Chen'. Because ungrasping self-clarity is the pinnacle of all results, it is 'Chen'. Because in the unchanging state, there is unobstructed activity, it is 'Chen'. Because in the ungrasping state, there is unobstructed activity, it is 'Chen'. Because in the ungrasping state, non-thought is clear, it is 'Chen'. Because in the unattached state, non-attachment is clear, it is 'Chen'. Because in the inexpressible state, great bliss is clear, it is 'Chen'. Because it is the essence of pure enlightenment, vast and expansive, it is 'Chen'. Because awareness is free from effort and is insubstantial, it is 'Chen'. Because in the state of great bliss, it abides immovably and equally, it is 'Chen'. Because in the meaning of the essence, it abides immovably and equally, it is 'Chen'. Because it is not an object of grasping, yet it is present in everything, it is 'Chen'. Words and letters cannot exhaust it.
