The distinction of delusion is not that one's own body is obscured by the delusion of others. The nature of what is called delusion is that it is delusion because it takes what is as what is not. For example, taking a high pole for a person, or like the mind of a snake from a rope. The delusion that arises from one's own cause is not knowing the body and what arises from the body. By taking them as appearing separately, the imprints of grasping are similar, of the same kind, and of the same lineage. It is called delusion because it is taken as two. For example, the essence of the sun, the light of the sun, is called delusion because it is taken as light and sun. It is not known that it arises from that and that. The delusion that arises from other conditions is that the nature of the body is not in the object, but it is delusion because it is intentionally taken as an object. For example, the mass of water in a mirage, even though it does not exist, is seen as water. The delusion of ignorance as a result is that all phenomena are non-dual, but the outer and inner realms of existence appear as two. The imprints of that appear as the three realms of samsara, like seeing non-existent things such as hair and the moon. From the Great Jewel Accumulation Sutra, the eighteenth chapter, Examination of the Basis of Delusion. The secret lord Vajrasattva, the gatherer, asked the teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra: "From what do all these appearances called delusion arise? What is their measure? What is their gate?" The teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, revealed to the secret lord Vajrasattva, the gatherer: "Since awareness does not move, awareness is self-illuminating, the various kinds of awareness that arise from that are subtle parts of self-born wisdom. From moving and not moving, it is agitated by a slight movement of mind. Since it had not moved before, it moved later. Awareness, self-illuminating, arises in union with light. In that light that arises from awareness itself, the knowledge of certainty of what is and is not arises. Light and awareness appear separately as two. Awareness itself grasps its own light as an object. By the habit of grasping, clinging and looking, the object and the subject appear as two." From the Great Jewel Accumulation Sutra, the nineteenth chapter, Abridged Delusion. The secret lord Vajrasattva, the gatherer, asked the teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra: "The Dharmakaya, self-born wisdom, is without awareness. Its qualities are unceasing and appear in every way. One aspect of the qualities appears as those, the Dharma\
