And the rules. And the essence of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. And the manifestation of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. And the difference of that Dharmakaya of the Buddha. And how that Dharmakaya of the Buddha pervades. The teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, To the Samputa Vajrasattva: In the beginningless and endless time, Buddhas and sentient beings are non-dual. The Dharmakaya of the Buddha is great, Because there is no practice and no effort, How can it be transformed by the path? It abides in a state like the great sky. The essence is unknowing, unborn wisdom, Liberated from all causes and effects, so there is no antidote. Without effort and without cessation, it manifests in any way. Because it is not in the realm of conceptual thought, it cannot be pointed out. Self-arisen, self-manifesting, yet without any defilement. If not realized from oneself, there is no manifestation. Everything is the essence of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. The five phenomena manifested by its function are: Clarity, purity, immovability, immutability, and continuity. Possessing various qualities without cessation. The difference in the manifestation of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha is: Manifesting as the body of the body. Manifesting as the wisdom body. Manifesting as the body of non-existence. Manifesting as the body of existence. Manifesting as the body of mind. Manifesting as the body born from mind. The essence of the body, from purity, Body, speech, and mind, And various qualities and activities, All arise from the purity of the body. Therefore, the essence body, the nature body, And the limb body pervade all. From the Great Jewel Accumulation Sutra. Chapter Sixteen, explaining the Dharmakaya. The Samputa Vajrasattva, To the teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, The abode of self-arisen wisdom, What are the essence, function, qualities, and pervasiveness? The teacher of teachers, Samantabhadra, To the Samputa Vajrasattva: The heart essence of wisdom without gathering or scattering, The Tathagatas of the ten directions and four times, Also accomplish all Sugatas through wisdom, It is not newly obtained, but has always existed. The essence of self-arisen wisdom is: Non-conceptual wisdom, ignorance without birth, Self-knowing, self-illuminating, vast and pervasive, Abiding in great equality without discrimination. The limb of self-arisen wisdom is the arising wisdom, The function of wisdom is the various functions of wisdom. The body is full of the function of wisdom, which is the realm of the five senses. Its power, the appearance is inconceivable. Self-born wisdom, from a single basis. The essence of self-born wisdom, and The branch of self-born wisdom, and The great wisdom of the mind, and The wisdom that arises and abides after arising. With uninterrupted awareness, The qualities are inconceivable. Bodhicitta is the edge of a razor, Like a sword sharpened with sesame oil. Possessing the qualities of clarity and purity, Endowed with uninterrupted qualities. Unthinking awareness, from the very basis, The arising of awareness is inconceivable. From Victorious Vajrasattva, To the point of Vajra Suffering, That awareness pervades all. Wisdom awareness is clear and unmeasurable. Branch awareness arises, abiding in unclear measurement. The mind's awareness arises in momentary mixture. The manner of awareness's arising is inconceivable. From the Great Extensive Jewel Tantra, The chapter on demonstrating self-born wisdom, the seventeenth. That Vajrasattva, the secret empowerment of gathering, To Samantabhadra, the teacher of teachers, Since all are the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas, All these appearances called "delusion," Do they arise from the body, or from wisdom? Or do they arise from some other cause, not realized from that? If they arise from the body, then they arise from Samantabhadra himself. Since all are Samantabhadra, If they arise from wisdom, then they will become endless. Vajrasattva himself will also be called delusion. The view, meditation, and conduct of realization will become meaningless. If they arise from some other cause, then there is no Buddha in the mind. How are these appearances called "delusion"? That Samantabhadra, the teacher of teachers, To Vajrasattva, the secret empowerment of gathering, Since the nature is completely pure and cannot be corrected, There is no delusion in the essence of body and wisdom. For example, the essence of water is not deluded, but the waves of water themselves are deluded. The essence of a mirror is not deluded, but the reflection is deluded. Since the essence of the Dharmakaya is originally completely pure, The power of the Dharmakaya, uninterrupted, The qualities are uninterrupted, appearing in any way, From the appearance of branches grasping at objects, The appearance of arising becomes the basis for delusion. Since that basis possesses three qualities, From the gathering of similar, related, and identical things, The mind-basis consciousness arises, and the habitual patterns of delusion appear. Those habitual patterns obscure the body and wisdom. Abiding in that.
