Translation and so on, many express meaning. If it is not like that, expression and meaning are separate. After expressing the meaning, that expression itself, is naturally accomplished in self-existent wisdom, without separation is separation, manifesting in the state of natural accomplishment. From the Tantra of Khasamanta Equal to the Edge of Space, the chapter on expressing meaning, the fourteenth, is complete. Then, the Vajra Mind Son, in order to measure how the blessings of the speech of the Bhagavan, the glorious Samantabhadra, appear, completely asked the question. Emaho! By what blessings of heart and body, those that fully appear, how should the appearance of the blessings of speech be measured? After speaking thus, Samantabhadra, the Great Blissful One, said: As you asked, it is like this: In the absence of essence, in that secret, there are no names of words or sounds. From all to all, there is no speaking, it is just like that. If those spoken words can be measured, then even the holy person of a completely pure lineage cannot measure them, because the very act of measuring is the absence of essence, because it is certain that it is a supreme secret, therefore it is extremely difficult to measure. Great Mind Son, however, it should be understood in this way: the speech that has no essence is like the sky. The completely pure speech is like the essence of the sun. The fully ripened speech is like a mirror. The supreme secret speech is like a lion. The constantly arising speech is like a lion. The constantly arising speech is: one speech arises with countless branches, therefore it is called inconceivable. Great Mind Son, listen! Those inconceivable things also appear as the number four, and it should be known that they increase from the number four. That is: the nature of speech, and the types, and the branches, and the images should be known. Great Mind Son, for that which is spoken by nature, it is like this: in the way of pervading the Dharma, the sound is vast, in the way of different sounds, it is completely pervasive, in the way of the realm of language, understanding is quick, in the way of close accomplishment, doubt is cut off, in the way of love, thinking of looking at each other, in the way of compassion, showing a little, in the way of joy, entering, the listener believes.

Generating aspiration through the gate of..., abiding in distinction through the gate of specific knowledge, and subduing all sounds through the gate of the qualities of speech. Great Bodhisattva, listen! The aspects of speech are as follows: like the sound of Brahma, like the sound of a lute, like the sound of song and dance, like the sound of a Kalaviṅka, like the sound of Puhi Dhyings, like the sound of Naraka. Great Bodhisattva, listen! The sounds of the limbs are as follows: mind entering and generating attention, individually knowing each meaning, being worthy of listening in accordance with one's own desires, not contradicting individual wisdom, being inconceivable and extremely profound, arising in accordance with the meaning, not being interrupted by intervening words, being pleasing to the ear, being distinct and unmixed, not being confused in the ear, and being extremely clear in any place. In each of the arising places of the aspects, in each of those, even in one, all the limbs become complete. Great Bodhisattva, receive with a pure mind! All phenomena such as letters are accumulated like illusions, arising from nothing, appearing as seen, and because they are accomplished as they are accomplished, letters also, because they are invisible, arise from non-cessation, and are merely images of speech. The fifteenth chapter, which extensively explains letters, from the Tantra of Khasa Manta, equal to the edge of the sky, is complete. Then, the Bhagavan, glorious Samantabhadra, without departing from the state of equality and great equality, in self-clarity, Bodhisattva Vajra asked as follows: All phenomena are naturally empty, without self-nature, self-nature is luminous, when speech is cut off, how does the image of the wisdom of the wondrous meaning appear? What is the image like? Thus he inquired. Great Bodhisattva, think well! The cause of the image, the gate of arising, non-separation, non-transcendence, the image is the self-arising as the emanation of wisdom. The cause is purity, invisibility, arising from nothing whatsoever. The gate is where the two are united, that is, knowing anything from nothing whatsoever. What does the image represent? From the image, the essence of the meaning arises, and also does not arise, appears, and also does not appear, both pervades and does not pervade.
