May it abide in the vast contemplation. By the example of the clear and bright sun, the darkness of ignorance is cleared away. It is the contemplation of unborn, primordial purity. By the lineage of the bright moon, the obscurations of delusion and habitual tendencies are cleared away. May it abide in self-arisen luminosity. Just as the essence of the sun and moon is invisible, the essence of mind itself is without substance. Not seeing it as a substance is luminosity. Thus it is said. This is the chapter explaining the meaning with the example of the sun and moon, the fifty-ninth chapter. Then, Self-Appearing Youth asked the teacher who is completely liberated from extremes: "How does the nectar of instructions gather, exemplified by the ocean of nectar?" The teacher addressed the assembly: "First, I will explain with the example of the ocean. For example, when nectar gathers into an ocean, whoever drinks it will be free from disease and will not have birth and death. Even so, that ocean neither diminishes nor increases, neither fills nor empties." Thus he spoke. This is the chapter explaining with examples, the sixtieth chapter. Then, Self-Appearing Youth asked the teacher who is completely liberated from extremes: "How does the nectar gather, exemplified by metaphors?" The teacher addressed the assembly: "The utterly complete Tögal ocean of nectar is the ocean of the nature of reality, without bottom or edge, and the nectar of awareness, which liberates from extremes, and the nectar of manifest enlightenment upon liberation. Of these, the first, the nectar instruction in the nature of reality, without top or bottom, is: Various appearances are primordially nonexistent, without substance. Without substance, it is profoundly clear, openly clear, liberated in the essence. The natural state of being is the definitive, sacred truth. Without beginning or end, without name, beyond intellect, indescribable. Unborn, primordially pure, insubstantial, like the sky. Soma, reality, self-arisen, primordially accomplished. Primordially enlightened, primordially awakened, primordially attained, primordially perfected. Without name, exhausted of extremes, free from thought, expression, and object of focus." Thus he spoke. This is the chapter on the nature of reality, limitless and vast, gathering into an ocean, the sixty-first chapter. Then, Self-Appearing Youth asked the teacher who is completely liberated from extremes: "How do the extremes of phenomenal awareness become the ocean of nectar of complete liberation?" The teacher addressed the assembly: "Kill the three poisons of dangerous defiles, kill the three enemies. Stabilize the three appearances, reside in the three fortresses. Kill the three enemies and protect the three fortresses. Destroy the heap, extract the essence, and sleep in the sky fortress."

The teaching of the essential instructions is: Cross the three straits of past, present, and future. There are three enemies: mind, consciousness, and heart. There are three: self-appearance, self-nature, and self-liberation. Unborn, primordially pure, is a fortress beyond mind. The three poisons are the enemies to be killed, the three bodies are the city to dwell in. Abandon self-grasping, attachment, grasping, and clinging. Rest in the unborn realm of Dharmata. Thus it is said. Then, the way of liberation for phenomena is: For the various appearances of phenomena and existence, There are three: the way of abiding, the way of appearing, and the way of liberation. The way of abiding, its essence is deep and boundless. It is unborn, primordially pure, beyond mind. The way of appearing is the way phenomena appear in objects, There are three: self-appearance, self-nature, and self-power. For this, there are three ways of liberation: Self-appearance is not obstructed, not clung to, and liberated in itself. The self-nature of appearance is liberated without distinction. The teaching of the way of liberation for the mind of awareness is: In the clear state of no awareness, no movement, and no mind, All clinging is liberated in the great primordial purity. When phenomena are liberated, Dharmata condenses into nectar. When appearance is liberated in itself, the Dharmadhatu condenses into nectar. When the ground of all is liberated in itself, the nectar condenses into the ocean. Thus it is said. The chapter on the condensation of nectar into the ocean of the liberation of phenomena and awareness is the sixty-second. Then, the self-appearing young boy asked The teacher of complete liberation: "How does the nectar of the essential instructions Condense into emptiness and manifest enlightenment?" The teacher taught the retinue: "With the nectar of unborn Dharmata, The essence becomes emptiness and manifests enlightenment. With the nectar of deep and vast meaning, Manifest enlightenment in the realm of Dharmata. With the nectar of the essence of primordial purity, Manifest enlightenment in the unborn Dharmakaya. Originally, one's own mind has become enlightened, Understanding the meaning, becoming emptiness, manifesting enlightenment." Thus it is said. The chapter on the condensation of nectar into the ocean of the essence becoming emptiness and manifesting enlightenment is the sixty-third. Then, The self-appearing young boy asked The teacher of complete liberation: "In the complete and unsurpassed vehicle, Are there paths of straying and obscurations?" Thus he asked. The teacher taught the retinue: "If one understands the meaning of complete and spontaneous transcendence, Then there are no paths of straying, obscurations, or confusion." Thus it is said. Then, the retinue asked again: "For those who have not understood it, How do paths of straying and obscurations arise?" Thus they asked. The teacher taught the retinue: "There are two thousand five paths of straying and obscurations.
