Where to apply, and to apply in the self-arisen wisdom of the mind, and to apply in the unchanging essence of the mind, and to apply in the very essence of the uncorrected mind, and to apply in the unfound wisdom of the mind. Among these, applying the mind to purify afflictions in their place means that all attachments to the mind, such as desire, hatred, ignorance, pride, jealousy, etc., arise from the meaning and arising of great wisdom, not from complete abandonment. Therefore, knowing that it is in accordance with the meaning of the unerring nature of reality is applying the mind to purify afflictions in their place. To this, it should be said: The nature of great desire is the compassionate father and mother of the Buddha, attached by the meaning of non-duality. Those who possess such teachings have no errors other than the taste of bliss. The nature of great ignorance is the Dharmakaya, without difference, in a state without an object of meaning. Those who possess such teachings have no errors of unknowing ignorance other than the unborn. The nature of great hatred is the body of skillful means that destroys all conceptual appearances. Those who possess such teachings have no errors of wandering in samsara other than the body of play. The nature of great pride is the measure of being all-pervasive, self-arising as the king of means. Those who possess such teachings have no errors of afflicted arrogance other than the great body. The nature of great jealousy is that the appearance of afflictions is not tolerated, and there is no conceptualization in the nature of reality. Those who possess such teachings have no errors of partiality other than the meaning of the instructions. Thus, whatever the application, even if afflictions are applied, they can be applied. Even if applied, it is a merit, and nothing is meaningless. Thus, day and night, if one does not stray from these instructions, it is the supreme application of the mind, as prophesied by Samantabhadra. Among these, applying the mind to self-arisen wisdom means that self-arisen wisdom does not change through searching. Why is this? Because from the beginning, everything has been accomplished in the nature of Samantabhadra, and no cause or condition can produce it. Self-arisen wisdom arises from the unborn realm, initially unborn.

Because there was no searching in the middle, and no accomplishment in the end, like searching in the sky and finding nothing, that which has the meaning of realizing self-born wisdom, for the measure of yogis, self-appearance becomes the measure, to this it should be said: All beings in the six realms, no one has created, and will not create. All objects and faculties, and all the aggregates of consciousness, are all differences of realizing one's own mind. For example, from the nature of the sky, it appears as the equal transformation of the elements, but like the self-arising of the sky itself, from the nature of the all-pervading mind, whatever appears, sounds, and understands, and realizes, all come from the wisdom of the self-born king. If the power of karma is strong, then self-born wisdom does not exist either. If the mind is in samsara, samsara is self-born wisdom, therefore the oral instruction of realization will not appear. If the mind is in the three times, the three poisons are self-born wisdom, no matter how you think, it is good. When using self-born wisdom, there is no name of samsara or evil realms. There is no acceptance or rejection in the nature of beings, self-born in the realm of realization, therefore the Buddhas praise this. The arising of memory and awareness in the mind is also the wisdom of the self-born king. The arising of feelings in the mind is also the wisdom of the self-born king. The great self-born wisdom is the master of the Buddhas of the three times. The view is the realm of no birth and no death, the realization is the nature of no union and no separation, the conduct is to practice the essence without fabrication, the practice is to accomplish without searching. The essence of meaning is the definite scripture, because it exists in oneself and is the field of happiness, because oneself is pure and is the place of liberation, in accordance with the scriptures and treatises and is the definite meaning. Thus, whatever the conduct of the mind is, no matter how it is practiced, it is only practice. Apart from self-born, there is no attachment or clinging. Thus, without time and without interruption, without straying from this oral instruction, it is said to be the self-born conduct of the mind. To this, it is said to practice with the unchanging essence of the mind, because the mind does not change into color and shape, not changing is the essence of meaning. For example, whatever is bright is the sun, whatever is the sun is bright. Knowing that time does not change, without beginning and without end, conduct does not change, without day and night.
