Thus! In Tibetan: The King of All Conduct, the Tantra of Meaningful Diligence. Homage to the Bhagavan Vajrasattva, the All-Skillful! At one time when this was being taught, the Bhagavan, glorious Samantabhadra, was dwelling in a state of unborn, without inherent nature. Vajrasattva arose from the immovable samadhi and, with a great meaning unmixed with the teacher Samantabhadra, bowed and asked: "Bhagavan, all sentient beings act with body, speech, and mind. When they act in the three realms, how should the conduct of the body be practiced, and what view should be held to be meaningful? How should the conduct of speech be practiced, and what view should be held to be meaningful? How should the conduct of the mind be practiced, and what view should be held to be meaningful? How should the conduct of method be practiced, and what view should be held to be meaningful? Bhagavan, please prophesy. Sugata, please prophesy." When he had asked this, the Bhagavan spoke: "Vajrasattva, great in method, wishing to benefit beings, I shall teach what you have asked well. Any sentient being who is confused, not knowing samsara to be like an illusion, does not practice signs for the sake of conduct. Such a one is of the nature of permanence; such conduct is the cause of samsara. He who desires the treasure of instructions should listen well to this tantra. How should the conduct of the body be practiced, and how should one possess the view? The conduct of the body is to practice in method and wisdom; the conduct of the body is to practice without obstructing and without attachment; the conduct of the body is to practice in the mandala of moving mudras; the conduct of the body is to practice in the expanse of purity; the conduct of the body is to practice in appearance and clarity; the conduct of the body is to practice without abandoning and without abiding; the conduct of the body is to practice in the state of the body not moving. Among these, the conduct of the body is to practice in method and wisdom: the body is method, and going from higher to higher is wisdom. The five aggregates produced by the five great elements are method, and not abiding in any of the great elements is wisdom.

Wo. The eight aggregates of consciousness are the means; whatever is seen and heard, tasted and felt, known and understood by them is wisdom. The three poisons of affliction are the means; this abiding and acting in the three realms and six paths is wisdom. The faculties are the means, the objects are wisdom. Awareness is the means, abiding is wisdom. Therefore, it is taught thus: vessel and essence are means and wisdom. Whatever is done with all characteristics, skill in means is wisdom. If the meaning of means and wisdom is realized, one possesses the Buddha's teachings. There is no other instruction than this; I, Samantabhadra, have spoken. Furthermore, the meaning of being in accordance with the view of the body is: knowing the body to be unborn is the purity of space; that which is all-pervasive without being the same is the realm of purity. Not grasping or clinging to it, yet being all-pervasive, is the nature of skillful means. Therefore, the body of Vajrasattva is said to exist and not exist. The body is said to be stable and unstable. The body is said to be pervasive and non-pervasive. Why is that? Because it is counted as a sign, but the meaning is not grasped. Dharmata is the body, the body is dharmata. Why is that? Because it is non-dual. The body of Vajrasattva is not dharmata, dharmata is not the body. Why is that? Because it is not fixated on characteristics. The body of Vajrasattva is the mandala of the deity, the mandala of the deity is the body. Why is that? Because it is neither separate nor different. The body of Vajrasattva is not the mandala of the deity, the mandala of the deity is not the body. Why is that? Because it is not a permanent body. The body of Vajrasattva is the instruction, the instruction is the body. Why is that? Because it is definitely shown and shown in meaning. The body of Vajrasattva is not the instruction, the instruction is not the body. Why is that? Because it is not the dry wood of the arrogant. Therefore, it is taught thus: all movement of the body, because of the nature of the great mudra, there is nothing to be done as a fault. Because there is no distinction between good and bad, in the mandala of the mudra of means, agitate the ocean of samaya commitment, the bindu of non-duality.
