Thinking of the cause as the basis of wisdom, thinking of the condition as the wind condition of wisdom, its fruit is Samantabhadra. The nature of Samantabhadra is free from cause, condition, effort, and disease. Through realization, one realizes the very nature of Samantabhadra himself. That Samantabhadra is the body, speech, and mind of the three poisons. Becoming like that is called Samantabhadra. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Precious, Luminous Razor that Cuts Through Delusional Appearances at Their Root, Equal to Space. This is the twelfth chapter, which explains that the primordial Buddhas did not do good deeds, but spontaneously attained Buddhahood through the power of their own nature. Ata Bharinuya Bita Ya. (Tibetan) Dharma Dhatu Ipa Dhani. (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Dharmadhatu upadhani, Establishment of the Dharma Realm) Then Vajrasattva asked Samantabhadra: Have the sentient beings of the six realms done evil? After this prayer, the Teacher instructed the assembly: The cause of delusion is the nature of wind, which is equal at the root of both. Because one fails to grasp one's own nature, the wind scatters, the Dharma nature fails to meet, and one fails to become the unchanging emptiness. Therefore, wisdom fails to grasp its own nature, delusion fails to cut itself off, and the heart essence fails to arise. Therefore, one fails to attain enlightenment without birth. The fruit of delusion is awareness. The cause is the power of wind, and the fruit is the existence of awareness. The wisdom of awareness fails to understand its meaning, fails to realize, and is enveloped in the darkness of ignorance. There, the mind wavers and is deluded into the mind. Light bodies, seed bodies, flesh bodies, etc., fail to grasp their own nature, which is the fault of the three. Without doing evil or practicing means, because awareness fails to grasp its own nature, one is deluded in the desire realm. Because the mind fails to grasp its own nature, one is deluded in the form realm. Because the mind fails to grasp its own nature, one is deluded in the formless realm. Failing to grasp one's own nature, for these three reasons, without doing evil, one wanders in samsara due to karma. For example, the moon under seventeen years old, although without cause, condition, or agent, gradually becomes smaller due to karma. Like someone without an agent, one wanders in samsara. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Precious, Luminous Razor that Cuts Through Delusional Appearances at Their Root, Equal to Space. This is the thirteenth chapter, which explains how sentient beings wander in samsara without doing evil. Avata Ibhata Sakata Ya A. (Tibetan) Then Vajrasattva asked Samantabhadra: What are its faults and merits? After this prayer, Samantabhadra said: For example, barley

In a single stillness, In a single field that is sown, Good and bad arise without a maker. Likewise, what arises from its own power, Ignorance and wisdom arise from power. Iron ore, the base of iron is one, Good, bad, sharp, and dull arise from power. Likewise, appearances and delusions arise. For example, parents, the base is one, Equal in union, equal in bindu, Equal in place, equal in arising. Thus, in the nature of equality, Boys and girls come to be, Good and not-good come to be, Good and bad also come to be. They arise from the power of their own nature, Not that a girl is made into a boy, Not that a boy is made into a girl. Not that not-good is made into good, Not that good is made into bad. Large and small come to be as two, Good and bad come to be as two, Sharp and dull arise in intelligence, Clever and foolish also come to be as two. Without making cause, condition, or effort, They arise thus from the power of their own nature. Likewise, in awareness, the base is one, Sentient beings and Buddhas arise as two. The qualities of the Buddhas are inconceivable, The faults of sentient beings are also beyond measure. Both faults and qualities, Arise from the power of the base. Thus it is said. From the Precious Shining Razor Cutting Delusion from its Root, a Tantra Equal to Space, the Fourteenth Chapter: Showing the Logic of Faults and Qualities. ATA ARISHA PARI, BHATA KIBA TSITTA YA, BIMALAYA ATI PARI. Then Vajrasattva, To Kuntuzangpo asked thus: The eighty-four thousand vehicles, Based on what were they divided? Thus he asked, And Kuntuzangpo replied: In the essence, nature, nameless equality, The display of power, branches, and the way things appear are divided in order. From the three poisons arise eighty-four thousand afflictions. From desire arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven, From ignorance arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven, From hatred arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven, The three poisons equally, twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven. Thus, the eighty-four thousand afflictions, To subdue them, there are eighty-four thousand Dharma gates. From the Sutras arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven, From the Vinaya arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven, From the Abhidharma arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven, From the combination of these three arise twenty-one thousand one hundred and eleven.
