For the sake of fully knowing, there is no concept of attachment and timidity. Buddhas and sentient beings are one, but seeing them as two with wrong views, one has been separated from the precious jewel since beginningless time. Bound by the iron chain of self-grasping attachment, burdened by the weight of karma and afflictions. Even if illuminated by a bright flame, it is like a blind person seeing nothing. Originally, in the non-dual wisdom, one does not see the truth due to attachment and wrong understanding. Due to the wheel of clinging and attachment, the suffering of the fruit never ceases. On the distinction of the unreal mind, controlled by the power of wrong thoughts, it appears as one examines it. Because it does not abide in reality, due to the density of attachment, those appear in front of one's eyes. The net of wrong views, like a mass of clouds, obscures the light of self-luminous awareness. Regarding the complete teachings of wisdom, if there is no oral transmission of the instructions, only relying on later inference, scriptural authority, and reasoning, and the words of inferior attachment, and self-conceived wrong notions, without the vajra guru's instructions, secrets will be revealed and explained, and the light of self-luminous awareness will also fade. One does not understand the meaning of the Great Perfection vehicle, dwelling on the words of signs and sounds, separated from the meaning of the self-born essence. Like clinging to stone as gold, one wanders in the darkness of samsara. Separated from the un fabricated secret path, like a blind person walking on a steep cliff. Regarding this, no matter what kind of guru one relies on, the secret instructions will disappear, and one will eventually wander in the darkness. In the degenerate age of the world, due to weak faith and strong afflictions, at that time, all beings, in order to cross the ocean of samsara, through the oral transmission of the complete teachings of mind essence, obtaining the supreme bliss instructions, abiding in the unmoving bliss, one will reach the place of liberation. Those without fortune who are separated from the instructions will wander upside down in the lower realms. The eighteenth chapter, "Compassionately Protecting Beings Without Refuge," from the Great Tantra of the Mind of Enlightenment, the Space-Like Womb. 16. Then, there is also what should be explained, which is to explain the distinctions of individuals. The characteristics of the vajra guru must be truly explained. The acharya who conveys the meaning of symbols, having received the lineage through oral transmission empowerment, possessing gentleness, respect, and compassion, possessing wisdom, vows, and scriptural authority, having received instructions and being skilled in understanding vessels.

The characteristics of a bad lama are: Short-tempered, without faith or samaya, Lazy, without secret teachings, Prioritizing profit and fame, Arrogant, jealous, with great pride, With meaningless, defiled, and licentious words, Lacking empowerment and instructions, Unable to distinguish the divisions of vehicles, And without the wisdom of practice, Lacking ear-transmitted instructions, With attachment to self-righteous wrong views, With sounds, measures, and proofs, With words attached to signs, Using the Dzogchen teachings of the mind, With words of wrong attachment, Whatever is said is wrong speech, Without confidence in one's own realization, Liberating others, both self and others will fall. Even a lama with teachings, Regarding the treasure teachings of the Buddhas of the three times, Because he lacks the precious eye, He prioritizes worldly relationships, Increasing through profit and fame, Falling into the vajra needle, Forever separated from the lineage of liberation.
