Vast as it is. The self-illuminating scriptures abide as they are. The definitive proof of the unconditioned is: The essence of space is emptiness, Not measurable by common standards, Its own nature clearly reveals. The nature of the appearance of the Dharmakaya is, Primordially unconditioned as it is, Its own nature establishes it. Realizing this is equal to all Buddhas. The clear nature of the sun is, The self-nature of oneself becomes clear. Likewise, self-illuminating wisdom also, The indestructible self-nature appears. If there is no meaning of unconditioned awareness, Then it becomes the path of contrived yogis. Uncontrived and self-luminous, The awareness of oneself, free from conditions, is, The unconditioned secret awareness. Likewise, in suchness as it is, Without entering into the unconditioned meaning, Through sounds and symbolic gates, conceptual thoughts, Self-illuminating wisdom is separated from meaning. Since the essence of wisdom is all-encompassing, It is not self-illuminating wisdom, If one dwells in the Dharma of clinging to appearances and concepts, How can one find enlightenment through delusion? Through the self-experience of habitual conceptualization, Upon the self-illuminating, non-conceptual essence, Whatever listening, explaining, or speaking is done, It is seen as a wave obscuring the ocean. What is unseen, what is seen, what is not seen? Clear, yet separate, separate from this. The unseen itself is the edge of seeing, Seeing itself is also the edge of not seeing. The path of the Middle Way, free from extremes, is the path of the edge, On the mandala of space and vajra, One does not see whether there is a center or edge. Self-illuminating awareness has no center or edge, Wisdom awareness has no partiality, Luminous awareness has no obscuration, The unconditioned reality is inconceivable. Self-arisen awareness, suddenly arising, Not gradual, but clear at once. Without focusing on self or other, what is not considered? Awareness free from clarity, all is clear, Experiential awareness is free from concepts, Manifestly clear, yet without an object. Self-arisen wisdom, self-illuminating scriptures, The luminous awareness is the supreme Samadhi, Like a blazing vajra sun, The clarity is objectless, understanding is complete. Not thinking is the edge of thinking, Not realizing is the realm of realization. Wisdom without cause is, Clear in the manner of vastness like space. Nothing is obstructed, manifestly clear, Non-returning, non-entering, suchness itself, Abiding in the manner of equanimity and neutrality. Following after signs and sounds, One goes astray from the unconditioned state. After vowing to unconditioned awareness, One meditates on half-objects in manifest meaning. Unconditioned meaning

Adorned with thought. Hold onto the meaning of the aimless. Forever lost from the realm of seeking cessation. Following the lineage of oral transmission, Immediately, awareness arises. The path of radiant wisdom is supreme. Do not stray from the supreme essence. All that is spoken as it is, Is the limit of perfect wisdom itself. In the non-dual perfect wisdom, Cut off all attachment to extremes and center. Whatever clings to self-luminous meaning, By clinging to the realm of bliss, The limits of clinging and non-clinging words, Do not stray from self-luminous meaning. Practice the two examinations and supplicate. By bestowing the gift of instructions, It is placed in the definitive meaning. In the uncreated, as it is, mandala, In the spontaneously accomplished nature without seeking, With the warmth of non-dual awareness, Abide without distraction in stillness. In the unsearched, manifest awareness, With the self-luminous encounter without object, With the samadhi of the Middle Way, free from grasping, It is clear like the ocean's depths. Clear, unmoving, free from objects, The supreme teaching, beyond conceptualization. Do not seek the spontaneously arising realm. Without thinking of extremes or center, it is clear in awareness. Those with fortune, who have thoroughly trained in awareness, Not looking to body or life, When pure heart and marrow mingle, Be diligent in the secret bestowal. Whoever breaks the secret vows, Immediately perishes, And together with the world, becomes a great pillar. His thoughts and examinations, Rejecting and expelling the bad vessel, Not conflicting with the secret meaning, And for purifying the defilements of the world, With actions, words, and substances, Thoroughly perform the stages of purification. For examining the definite and indefinite, Like gold that is burned, cut, and polished, For separating this from that, These are said to be excellent. To the Lama who possesses complete empowerment and transmission, Having pleased him well, For the sake of liberating oneself completely, Supplicate for the desired instructions. If one cannot let go, By giving the oral transmission to him, Great obstacles will arise, And he will immediately be destroyed. On a precious, blazing seat, Having placed the transmission and the Lama, Having offered the desired enjoyments, Receive the oral transmission instructions. The prophesied Lama also, On the self-cognizance of one's own awareness, Wherever there is harmonious conduct, The collection of individual self-cognizance instructions, Without being confused about anything in meaning, The wisdom of illusion.
