The nectar essence of the union of appearance and existence. From the tantra that cuts off the beginning and end of samsara, the chapter on establishing one's own mind as a burnt offering, the thirty-sixth chapter is complete. Then, in order to reveal the nature of mind to the All-Good One, Vajrasattva asked this: After burning the three poisons of affliction, how is its ashes suppressed? After this request, the teacher said this: If you are worried that the five poisons, the three poisons, and dualistic grasping will arise, Even though the essence of the nature of mind is unchanging, it is suppressed by the awareness of the power of the qualified. Vajrasattva, please keep it in mind. In the dangerous place of the Great Perfection, by the person who cuts off delusion, with skillful means and wisdom as hands, with the sharp axe of wisdom awareness, dig in the pure fire altar of the realm of reality. Put the three poisons, the five poisons, and afflictions into the hope of pure self-liberation. With the colored threads of the five wisdoms, make a knot of the unchanging cross. Put the ashes of ego-grasping and dualistic grasping into the triangular fire altar of the realm of reality. Cover it with the felt of the certainty of the nature of reality. Suppress it under the unchanging Mount Meru. Establish the palace of the victorious ones of the three bodies. Seal it with the seal of the unchanging realm of reality. Also strike the drum of the nature of reality above. This word should be spoken: Emaho! Those bound by ego-grasping and dualistic grasping

All sentient beings, whose hatred is not yet liberated, who are still not liberated, are greatly harmed by this great demon. The root of the demon is myself, and its support is the three poisons. The eighty-four thousand afflictions, like trees, are suppressed, suppressed without arising. May the womb of birth not arise! Bound, bound in the realm of Dharma-nature. May the thoughts of the mind not waver! Affixed, affixed with the immutable seal. May greed and hatred not arise in the mind! Severed, sever the three poisons from the root. May the mind and the five poisons not arise! Suppressed, suppress the three poisons under the three bodies, may they not arise even for a hundred kalpas! Utter this kind of sound. View, cast it away, release it where it is cast away, obtain it with the impartial, immutable seal. Meditation, release it blazing like fire, obtain it with the unwavering seal. Action, completely and utterly release it, obtain it with the uncreated, non-elaborate seal. Experience, release it dimly and vaguely, obtain it with the seal of no birth and death. Fruit, effortlessly and naturally let it be. Obtain the seal of the three bodies inseparable, without hope, abide in one's own nature, obtain it with the seal. Thus it is said. Appearance and existence merged, nectar essence drops, from the tantra that cuts off the beginning and end of samsara, the thirty-seventh chapter, "Self-Suppression of the Three Times and Five Poisons," ends. Then Vajrasattva asked Kuntuzangpo, "What is the definition of suppression?" After asking this, the teacher Samantabhadra said to the assembled retinue, "Although there is no difference in the meaning of the fundamental Dharma-nature, the definition is explained by the awareness of the mode of appearance.
