Now rest! Because of looking, there is no object to be seen; by resting without looking, one meets the very act of seeing. Those who wish to meditate for me, do not meditate, rest in an unwavering state. By resting in an unwavering state, one meets the very act of meditation. Those who wish to act for me, do not act, rest in a state of non-action. By resting in a state of non-action, one meets the very act of acting. Those who wish to protect for me, do not protect, rest in a state of non-departure. By resting in a state of non-departure, one meets the very commitment. Those who wish to seek for me, do not seek, rest in a state of non-effort. By resting in a state of non-effort, one meets the very activity. Those who wish to go for me, do not go, rest in a state of non-separation. Those who wish to accomplish for me, do not accomplish, rest in a state of non-accomplishment. Those who wish to attain for me, because there is nothing to attain, rest yourself in your own place. Because there is nowhere to rest, one attains the great fruit. Because there is nothing to attain, one sees the meaning of attainment oneself. Because there is nothing to see, rest in an unchanging state. All appearances rest in their original state. All states of being rest in an unchanging state. All elaborations rest in a state of resolution. The essence, the nature of the Dharmakaya, is to rest in a state of non-appearance, without inherent existence. All the objects of appearance that appear in the mind of thought, rest in a state of appearing but without inherent existence. Those who are bound by dualistic appearance, by the two graspers, rest in a state without distinction or calculation. The intellect, speculation, the memory and awareness of the mind, rest in a state of great self-purity. The magical displays of the mind of thought, rest in a state of great self-liberation. Wavering, awareness, and examination, rest in a state of great clarity and radiance. By gathering together through the method of resting, they are united into three. Awareness rests in a state of non-arising. The intellect rests in a state of non-wavering. The mind rests in a nameless state. These three aspects of resting, which gather everything into one, with these unattainable three bodies, subdue the three realms, and the three grounds are naturally pacified in their own place. Cut off the root of the three poisons, and sweep away the three realms with a broom. Essence, nature, is the appearance of compassion. The union of appearance and existence is the nectar of essence. In the Tantra that cuts off the beginning and end of samsara, this is the tenth chapter: Resting Naturally, Without Artifice. Then, to Samantabhadra, the nature of mind, Vajrasattva spoke thus: The essence, the unchanging Dharmakaya, the nameless name.

How are names established? The Primordial Buddha Samantabhadra, who reveals the nature of mind, entered into the samadhi of radiant, precious light. Then, arising from that state, he spoke these words: For the Dharmakaya, there is no name and no symbol; To indicate it by name is said to be a mistake. I will explain the nature of straying and obscuration; Vajrasattva, hold it in your mind. Since there is no Buddha, there is also no name of Buddha; To believe that there is none is to stray from the Buddha. Since there is no Dharmakaya, there is also no name of Dharmakaya; To believe that there is none is to stray from the Dharmakaya. Since there is no Sambhogakaya, there is also no name of Sambhogakaya; To believe that there is none is to stray from the Sambhogakaya. Since there is no Nirmanakaya, there is also no name of Nirmanakaya; To believe that there is none is to stray from the Nirmanakaya. Since there is no Samsara, there is also no name of Samsara; To believe that there is none is to stray by oneself. Since there is no Nirvana, there is also no name of Nirvana; To believe that there is none is to stray by oneself. Since there is no Ignorance, there is also no name of Ignorance; To believe that there is none is to be confused by oneself. Since there is no Wisdom, there is also no name of Wisdom; To believe that there is none is to be confused by oneself. Since there is no Thought, there is also no name of Thought; To believe that there is none is to be confused by oneself. Since there is no Dharmata, there is also no name of Dharmata; To try to prove that there is none is to be confused by oneself. Since there is no Bias, there is also no name of Bias; To try to prove that there is none is to be confused by oneself. All of these are without duality; To grasp them as dual is to be confused. All of these are without separation; To create separation is to be obscured. All of these are beyond expression; To express them is to be obscured. All of these are without name; To name them is to be confused. All of these are equal; To grasp at one side is to be confused. All of these are without attachment; To have attachment is to be confused. Not understanding the meaning of the ground is obscuration; Mistaking the path is confusion; Wandering in the five gates is confusion. Straying and obscuration are equal; To grasp at one side is to be confused. All of these are without attachment; To have attachment is to be confused. Not understanding the meaning of the ground is obscuration; Mistaking the path is straying; Wandering in the five gates is confusion. The two thousand five hundred strayings and obscurations, If divided, are inconceivable; If condensed, they are contained in these three. The nectar essence of the union of appearance and existence, From the tantra that cuts the beginning and end of samsara, Straying
