The Words of Wisdom Essence of the Great Perfection, from the Tantra of the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss, the Twenty-Third Chapter on Showing the Mara of Experience. Vajrasattva asked again: How are the maras of view, meditation, and conduct suppressed by power? Please explain, All-Knowing Teacher. Hearing the meaning of the request, he gave the command: All outer and inner phenomena are self-arisen bodies. If you realize that mara is the nature of reality itself, then enter the doctrine with lineage. Realizing the meaning of your own mind, there is no mara. Now listen to the essence of the gathering again. When meditating on the meaning without error, if the mara of the light of appearance arises, because the Dharmakaya is free from color, suppress it with clarity and non-thought. If the mara of the sound of fame arises, because the nature of reality is free from sound, its nature is without following, suppress it with the awareness of view. If the mara of the form of fear arises, because there is no appearance on the ground, suppress the characteristic of form with the samadhi of insubstantial knowledge. If the mara of deception arises, because the Dharmakaya is beyond words, free from the fault of grasping at truth, suppress falsehood with no truth. Now listen to the essence of the gathering again. If the mara of eliminating dullness arises, with the instruction of mixing the three sleeps, ignorance is completely absorbed into the Dharmakaya, suppress it with the power of the original view. If the mara of languor and bliss arises, because you know the meaning of no increase or decrease, in the great bliss of the original view, suppress it with the equality of awareness. If the mara of agitation and non-thought arises, from the increase of the habits of appearance, because self-awareness is without habits, suppress it with no rejection or attachment. If the mara of distraction and immovability arises, in the Dharmakaya that is originally immovable, with the power of habit, samadhi is clear, suppress it with the power of unforgetting retention. Now listen to the essence of the gathering again. The maras of view and meditation are also like that. By realizing the meaning of the self-arisen Dharmakaya, whatever arises is suppressed by power and self-destroyed, and the wisdom of the result is naturally accomplished. The Words of Wisdom Essence of the Great Perfection, from the Tantra of the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss, the Twenty-Fourth Chapter on Suppressing the Maras of View and Meditation with Power. Now listen to the essence of the gathering again. When abiding in the nature of that meaning, if the mara of noisy enjoyment arises, knowing that samadhi is the enemy

Sa! Subduing with majesty the demon of small desires and contentment, if attachment arises as a demon of place, since there is no certainty in the realm, not clinging, since the view is self-aware and without realm, subduing with the majesty of non-attachment. If a demon of distracting qualities arises, even until one's own benefit is not accomplished, not abandoning the empowerment, remembering the meaning, not doing the benefit of others, subduing with majesty. If an evil entourage, a demon of mental disturbance arises, since there is no ultimate connection, temporary connection is the enemy of samadhi, subduing with the majesty of suppressing compassion. Now, Again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Those methods of subduing with majesty also gather without rejection or establishment. The view, meditation, and conduct are in one state. Therefore, the fruit is spontaneously accomplished. The words of the Great Perfection, the gathering of meaning and wisdom. From the Tantra of the Wheel of Spontaneous Bliss. The chapter on subduing the demon of conduct with majesty, the twenty-fifth chapter. Furthermore, Vajrasattva, listen. If a demon of dakini prophecies arises, from the realization of unchanging self-awareness, knowing that prophesying elsewhere is deception, subduing without hope or fear with majesty. If a demon of clinging to experience arises, the Dharmakaya, which has no before or after, cannot change due to the condition of samadhi. Therefore, subduing with the majesty of non-clinging view. If a demon of pretense and desire arises, remembering the meaning of not doing anything, possessing the confidence of the spontaneously arising Dharmakaya, subduing with the majesty of upright discrimination. If a demon of increasing bliss arises, since spontaneously arising wisdom has no basis, not depending on empowerment, there is no increase or decrease, not arising from conditions, subduing with majesty. If a demon of unfounded accusation arises, since the Dharmakaya is free from imputation and accusation, it cannot harm those who possess scripture, subduing with the majesty of the view and conduct practitioner. If a demon of pride and imputation arises, in the spontaneously arising meaning, free from imputation, this definitive and sacred instruction, subduing with the secrecy of an unworthy vessel. Now again, listen to the essence of the gathering. Those six demons of experience, if realized, are the sacred path of a yogi. Therefore, do not forget the view. That meaning is the Buddha's intention. The words of the Great Perfection, the gathering of meaning and wisdom. From the Tantra of the Wheel of Spontaneous Bliss. The chapter showing the subduing of the demon of experience with majesty, the twenty-sixth chapter. Vajrasattva again asked, how are the four Buddhas distinguished? Bardo
