Therefore, in order to attain Buddhahood, in order to ascertain the meaning of non-discrimination, the activity of dedicating merit is completed. From the Great Perfection, the Collection of All Definitive Meanings, the Tantra Equal to the Wisdom Sky, the chapter that shows how to practice the activity of accomplishment, the one hundred and thirty-seventh chapter. Then, to the assembled gatherings, the All-Knowing Teacher spoke: The meaning of the essence of self-nature, whatever it may be, because things do not exist, they are always non-existent. To think that what does not exist exists, is known by those who are confused, but not known by all the holy ones. Now, Vajrasattva, listen. Space is unreal, separate from mind, likewise, the essence of self-arising, without color or shape, transcends mind, therefore, self-nature is difficult to realize. Dharmakaya is the unborn body of awareness, it cannot be conceived as a body of mind. Not thinking anything, that awareness, complete in everything, is the self-arising body. That too, listen to the essence of the gathering. On that, karma and conditions cannot be established. Therefore, self-nature as it is, because there is no alteration, it is the self-nature of Dharma. Uncompounded, like space, the nature of Dharma, self-nature, has no object of focus. That meaning, self-arising awareness, destroys the alaya consciousness of the mind from its root. The alaya consciousness of habit is cleared like clouds, the alaya consciousness of the body cannot be taken. Therefore, it is enough to realize self-arising. Now, Vajrasattva, listen. On that, the meaning that cannot be sought, the unchanging realm of wisdom in the three times. That which is constantly inseparable, is the intention of the truly enlightened Buddha. That too, listen to the essence of the gathering. In the self-nature, the pure Dharmadhatu, practice without elaboration. Having taken that, the result is the attainment of Buddhahood. Therefore, realizing self-nature is most important. From the Great Perfection, the Collection of All Definitive Meanings, the Tantra Equal to the Wisdom Sky, the chapter on the means of practicing the self-nature, spontaneously accomplished, the one hundred and thirty-eighth chapter. The twenty-seventh chapter, which is summarized and taught. Then, in order to benefit the assembled retinue, Vajrasattva, to the All-Knowing Teacher, the Dharma Lord, requested the meaning of the definitive practice: What is the practice that subdues the afflictions? How is the Dharmadhatu experienced? How is it grasped with the confidence of view? What are the signs of body, speech, and mind? Please explain, All-Knowing Teacher. All-Knowing Teacher, Dharma Lord.

Then, having heard the meaning of what was reported, in order to clarify the experience of true realization, he declared to the assembled retinue: By understanding the meaning of the self-aware nature of reality, the five poisons are transformed into five wisdoms. Afflictions subside naturally, like the sun rising on frost. The experience of phenomena as the realm of reality is like an illusion, knowing it to be unreal. The experience of confident view is like clouds and mist. The signs of body, speech, and mind possessing experience are endurance, clarity, and freedom from the eight worldly concerns. Furthermore, listen to the essence of the gathering! To all sentient beings in the six realms, the nectar of pith instructions with lineage is like the effect of alchemy. Now, for the ignorance and conceptualization of sentient beings of this time, I will teach the meditation that subdues them. The method of meditation, its faults and remedies, the duration of sessions, the experience, and the five aspects are what I have spoken in my teachings. Believers, take it to heart. First, the remedy for meditation is to use the pith instructions of body, speech, and mind to gain certainty in the view that understands the basis, and not to stray from that state. The measure of this is clarity and immovability, non-conceptual and self-arising, without loss. Have unwavering faith in this. Knowing the basis, there are no afflictions. If you identify its faults, there are dullness, excitement, distraction, and obscuration, which arise from intention, circumstances, and force. These faults often occur in those with little wisdom. The causes and distinctions are three each. For those of intermediate and lower faculties, apply the remedy and let them experience it. Therefore, always remain inseparable, and through the power of habituation, make the samadhi clear. Combine the breaks between sessions with experience, and for those of intermediate and lower faculties, adjust according to their temperament. For those of superior faculties, always remain inseparable, and the duration of sessions should be ungraspable, like the sky. If the experience of these meanings can be gathered and released at will, then awareness is self-luminous and without loss. Awareness is vast and free from grasping, wisdom is transparent and without dullness or excitement. Knowing the unchanging truth of reality, the view is self-arising and samsara is empty. The pith instructions are without beginning or end through mindfulness, and the dharmakaya is naturally empty through freedom. Whatever is remembered, the superior insight is without bias. Self-arising and self-luminous, without defilement. Be frank, confident, and content. Without attachment to bliss, be spontaneously free. Without grasping, pervasive and vast, without beginning or end. Samsara is self-liberated, clear in the dharmakaya. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering. For the yogi who possesses these five qualities, even if he sees the attachment and aversion of others,
