This is the chapter on teaching "I," which is the eightieth chapter. In summary, this is the eighteenth teaching. Then, Vajrasattva, for the benefit of the assembled retinue, to the All-Knowing Dharma King, with a true mind, made this request: Where are the various errors in view? What are the errors in appearance and the Dharmadhatu? What are the errors and faults in meditation? What are the faults of coarse behavior? What are the faults of errors in the result? Where are the errors of these downfalls? Please, All-Knowing King, explain. Having heard this request, the All-Knowing King spoke: The errors in view are of various kinds, namely: the basis is thinking about spontaneous accomplishment, without certainty, and thinking it is mind, without elaboration, practicing too extremely, thinking it is pure, without necessity, these are said to be errors. Now, Vajrasattva, listen! Samsara and Nirvana, all-pervading spontaneous accomplishment, is the Tathagatagarbha, the Dharmakaya, because its nature exists, so it is originally Buddha. Therefore, it is the basis of all dharmas. Thinking of spontaneous accomplishment as wish-fulfilling, like turning earth and stone into gold, thinking of transforming the place into a deity, universally clinging. Even if appearances are not modified or changed, because of not knowing, not benefiting, clinging, one wanders. Strongly clinging to objects that conform to appearances, saying that the bright appearance is the true nature of reality, the basis has not arisen, such thinking is wrong. Saying it is uncertain spontaneous accomplishment, the basis has not grasped the uncertain place, because it is diverse, so it is not the nature of reality. Therefore, the view of cognitive function is wrong. Now, listen to the essence of the assembly! Whatever is thought to be mind, all internal and external dharmas gather in the mind, because of clinging to objects, one's own mind is confused. This is the error of the Katari school's view. Thinking it is constant cessation, without elaboration, like a fire extinguished when the wood is exhausted, both do not exist, so it is annihilation, because the antidote of wisdom does not exist, so the Dharmakaya does not exist, therefore it is very wrong. Now, Vajrasattva, listen! However one thinks too extremely, for the subject, one by one upwards, thinking it is complete with the three times, one lacking the other, this is the error of the Samkhya school. The accomplished one thinks it is already accomplished, the Buddha's qualities are the faults of sentient beings, because spontaneous accomplishment does not exist in one's own face, so clinging to the difference of duality, in meaning it is wrong. All appearances and existence are the Dharmakaya, originally great bliss, one's own mind is clear in the expanse, there is not a single particle that is not gathered there, the spontaneous accomplishment without defilement, one's own mind.

Without realizing the essence of the ground, even if mere circumstances are commonly manifested, it will not become a gathering of sinful ones; this is a mistake. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. Those that are said to be the ten spontaneously accomplished ones, because there is no definitive spontaneous accomplishment, to scrutinize closely is to have wrong views, and to fabricate without scriptural authority is extremely mistaken. The Great Perfection, which encompasses all definitive meanings, from the Tantra that is Equal to the Wisdom Sky, the chapter showing the mistaken points of view, the eighty-first. Then, to the assembled retinue, the mistaken points of appearance and dharmadhatu, the All-Knowing Teacher declared: The cause of samsara is clinging and conceptualization, do not transform the valid philosophical tenets with the mind. The senses are always distracted by objects, always clinging to the eight worldly dharmas, falling into the boundaries of the four rivers, is the basis for wandering in samsara. Subtle and coarse objects should be abandoned with antidotes, abandon the distinctions that differentiate, abandon the cause and effect that measure existence and non-existence, because the mind fabricates the ground itself, therefore it is said to be the mistaken point of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Now listen again, Vajrasattva. In order to gather all dharmas into the mind, believing that objects and mind are non-dual, believing that the nature of mind is self-arising, believing that objects and mind are empty, because nothing is acknowledged, the views of Madhyamaka and Cittamatra, are said to be the mistaken points of suffering conceptualization. Now listen again to the essence of the assembly, the five external elements, because they arise from causes and conditions, because they arise from others, therefore they are not wisdom. Therefore, it is said to be the mistaken point of the dharmadhatu. The Great Perfection, which encompasses all definitive meanings, from the Tantra that is Equal to the Wisdom Sky, the chapter showing the mistaken points of appearance and dharmadhatu, the eighty-second. Then, to the past assembly, the All-Knowing Dharma King declared the mistaken points of meditation: clinging to the absence of self of the person without wavering, clinging to the absence of self of phenomena without wavering, clinging to the happiness of the world without wavering, these are said to be the mistaken points of samadhi and dharmakaya. Now listen again to the essence of the assembly, clinging to the absence of self of the person without wavering, even if the six aggregates cease, it is only for a moment, because it is pride, therefore it does not touch the true meaning. If closing the five senses is the true meaning, then the meditation of the Shravakas would become the Great Perfection. If closing arising and feeling is the true meaning, then the meditation of the Pratyekabuddhas would become the Great Perfection. Now listen again to the essence of the assembly, clinging to the absence of self of phenomena without wavering, self-
