It is stable. The antidotes are two: common and uncommon. The common ones are faith, diligence, and aspiration, mindfulness, samadhi, and so on. The uncommon one is wisdom. Habitual tendencies precede, with one cause, arising, accomplishing, and transforming into others. Dependent on others, the essence is considered to be established. The distinctions are examined without error. Now listen to the essence of the collection. Abilities and portions are large and small. Suffering is birth, old age, sickness, and death. Lacking love, encountering enemies, not finding what is sought. The habitual tendencies of samsara arise as abilities. Although there are many in number, habitual tendencies, afflictions, discriminations, faults, and servants, obscurations, downfalls, mistakes, delusions, etc., as long as there is an object, the number is endless. Now listen to Vajrasattva. Those delusions arise from objects. The bardo between object and mind is the mistake. Habitual tendencies do not adhere to the ground. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Union of All Definitive Meanings, Equal to the Wisdom Sky, the Fifth Chapter, which teaches the alaya of adventitious habitual tendencies. Then, the omniscient teacher, to the fortunate and faithful assembly, taught the alaya of the body, explaining that it is realized through distinctions, essence, characteristics, actions, and examples. Now listen to the essence of the collection. The nature of habitual tendencies is the body of mind. The differences of beginning, end, and present. In order to definitively ascertain, it arises from the basis of different bodies. The essence is the different abilities and powers, although there is no ability of appearances and bindus, it relies on the previous body. Body and habitual tendencies appear through power. Its characteristic is the Dharmakaya, the habitual tendency body relies on the nature body. It is not one, nor is it different, nor both. The basis of samsara and nirvana also abides in that way. Now listen to the essence of the collection. For shravakas, bodhisattvas, and buddhas as well, it is the basis of miraculous powers, characteristics, and all good qualities. The three doors of sentient beings rely on it. The alaya of the body is the action of relying. The examples that represent it are taught, the alaya of the body is like a house. Like a comfortable plain where the sun sets. Like the sky where planets and stars appear. Now listen to the essence of the collection. Those three alayas are also, arising from imputation, habitual tendencies, and the alaya. The alaya is established through union. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Union of All Definitive Meanings, Equal to the Wisdom Sky, the Sixth Chapter, which teaches the alaya of the afflicted body. Sa

The second teaching, summarized. Then, Vajrasattva, For the sake of the assembled circle, To the All-Knowing King of Dharma, With a truthful mind, pleaded thus: "In the single root of Dharma-nature, What created the basis of samsara? From what did the suffering of the six realms arise? How are the eternalist and nihilist heretics mistaken? From what did the sequence of vehicles arise? I beseech the King of Equality to explain." Having heard the meaning of this request, He spoke to the assembled circle: "The basis of samsara, consciousness, is unpredicated. The display of the power of the self-existing body, In whatever is not thought, the meaning is not grasped, Consciousness is self-appearing, the meaning is not altered. Because of the uncertainty of the cause of ignorance, Consciousness is said to be unpredicated. Now also listen to the essence of the assembly, That body of self-nature and essence, Without any division of distraction and non-distraction, Remains just in a daze, in a stupor. Self-arisen consciousness changes according to conditions, Therefore, it is said to be unpredicated. The basis is of remembering and not remembering, The mind enters but does not understand the meaning. The basis of ignorance is unpredicated, Therefore, it is called the basis of samsara. Due to the cause of the mind-born, gradual decline, and reversal, Although there is memory in a daze, But in reality, it does not understand, only this. Because there is no basis for the wandering of ignorance, The first samsara arises from this." From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Gathering of All Definitive Meanings, the Wisdom, Sky-like Equality, the seventh chapter, showing the basis of samsara. Then to the assembled gathering, The All-Knowing King spoke thus: "The arising of the suffering of the six realms, First, in the bardo of samsara and nirvana, Remembering existence in non-existence, only mind arises. Because it is unpredicated, it gradually declines, Consciousness darkens and thickens. Even if one examines, one does not recognize the face, And in the ignorance of not knowing anything, A subtle habituation of clinging arises. Immediately after that, with grasping, On the three co-emergent with ignorance, Because of the three completely conceptualized as conditions, Like grasping a rope as a snake. Heroes, confused by objects, because of grasping the grasper and the grasped, The world, gods, and humans have coarse knowledge, They do not attain the path of liberation, they regard it as birth and death. Now also listen to the essence of the assembly, The determination of riding on ignorance is, Laziness, idleness, and inferiority are combined. By enjoying the five poisons of attachment and aversion, The ripening result of that arises. Hell-beings see fire and so on as their nature, Hungry ghosts see uncleanliness as the appearing object, Animals...
