Like muddy water that has settled, Through practice, one does not know the root of ignorance. All the conceptualizations of pervasive imputation, Are inverted views caused by conditions. From subtle to coarse ways, The all-ground arises. On the subtle conceptualizations of the previous thought, The afflictions of the subsequent thought continuously arise, Thus, habits are accumulated on the all-ground. Therefore, the five poisons and afflictions arise, According to one's own karma, the six realms of beings, Produce various kinds of happiness, suffering, good, and evil. Once an evil body is taken, there is no liberation, The three realms are full of suffering, like heavy shackles. Limitless sentient beings, countless, That is what is called samsara. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss, which embodies the meaning, the third chapter, which explains how samsara arises from non-realization. Then, the root of the faults of non-realization and bondage was taught. Sentient beings who have not turned away from delusion, Even though there is a medicine of nectar-like sustenance, It is of no benefit, but afflicted by the disease of poison. Even though there is the clear light of wisdom like a lamp, They wander in the darkness of ignorance and samsara. Even though they possess the nine qualities needed, They are always tormented by food, wealth, and sustenance. Even though there is a path that leads upwards, They enter the bottomless pit of samsara without liberation. Even though there is a bridge of wisdom and bliss, They reach the edge of the four rivers. Even though body, speech, and mind exert effort, The suffering of exertion has no end. However one travels, wherever one goes, The edge of samsara is endless. Furthermore, Vajrasattva, listen. Wisdom is not mistaken, ignorance is mistaken. The bindu is not mistaken, phenomena are mistaken. The Buddha is not mistaken, sentient beings are mistaken. Self-arisen is not mistaken, other-arisen is mistaken. Awareness is not mistaken, grasping and the grasped are mistaken. Appearance is not mistaken, pervasive imputation is mistaken. Suchness is not mistaken, that which possesses suchness is mistaken. For sentient beings who do not realize, Even though they possess the Dharmakaya, they are bound and cannot be liberated. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, the Self-Arisen Wheel of Bliss, which embodies the meaning, the fourth chapter, which explains being bound by the faults of non-realization. Then, to the assembled gathering, The All-Knowing King declared: The darkness of the mind of ignorance, Is the conceptualization of abandoning, gathering, and attachment, As well as habits, afflictions, and samsara. Free from these, the bindu is the Dharmakaya. Furthermore, Vajrasattva, listen. When the conceptualization of abandonment arises, The fifty functions are like scattered stars. The arising and ceasing of the eight consciousnesses are like the moon. The all-ground is like space.

Like mist and clouds. There is a single bindu in that space. For example, like the sun's light being obscured. Those obscurations that arise from oneself. Like a shadow that cannot be dispelled even by dispelling. Therefore, the thought of dispelling is wrong. Listen again to the essence of gathering. When the thought of collecting arises. The actions are like swans on the seashore. The eight consciousnesses are like otters on fish. The Alaya consciousness is like a great ocean. Inside dwells a single bindu. For example, like an Udumbara flower. Invisible from the surface, it exists in the depths. Likewise, because it is unrelated to objects. Therefore, it is not killed, nor is it eaten. The mind and intellect are not enlightened by Dharma. Therefore, the thought of collecting is wrong. Listen again to Vajrasattva. When the thought of attachment arises. The fifty-one actions are like a forest. The eight consciousnesses are like wild animals. The habits of the Alaya consciousness are like the number of grasses. In that midst dwells the Dharmakaya. For example, like a white lion. Just as others cannot see it. In the realm of objects, there is no Bodhi. Therefore, the thought of attachment is wrong. Listen again to the essence of gathering. When remembering past habits. The fifty-one actions flow like water. The eight consciousnesses burn like fire. The habits of the Alaya consciousness pile up like earth. In that midst dwells a single bindu. For example, like precious gold. Because it is difficult to obtain. The karma of accumulating good and bad habits. Because the mind has attachment, it is wrong. Listen again to the essence of cyclic existence. When later afflictions arise. The fifty-one actions rage like wind. The eight consciousnesses rage like enemies. The afflictions of the Alaya consciousness envelop like darkness. In that space, the bindu is the Dharmakaya. For example, like a jewel sinking in mud. When ignorance and afflictions arise. There is no end to the cycle of existence. Therefore, Falling into later realms is wrong. Listen again to the essence of cyclic existence. Due to the arising of past and future thoughts. The mind and mental factors, and so on. Are always intoxicated by ignorance and delusion. Therefore, the Alaya consciousness is the Dharma of cyclic existence. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, Spontaneous Bliss Wheel of Meaning, the fifth chapter, which teaches that there is a single bindu from the beginning in the darkness of the mind. Then, Samantabhadra. Spoke to the assembled retinue. The Alaya consciousness that dwells in all sentient beings.
