Therefore, listen to the Dharma with a respectful mind. The quintessential view of Dzogchen, from the Tantra of the Vast Expanse of Space, the chapter of acceptance of speech, is the second chapter. Then, the All-Knowing King, in order to dispel the conceptual thoughts of the faithful assembly, specifically spoke the meaning. The supreme essence of the nature body, which is the basis of both samsara and nirvana, is self-arisen, therefore without beginning or end, like unconditioned space. Furthermore, listen to the essence of the gathering. Without explanation or analysis, the Samantabhadra who realizes this, can simultaneously cut off the beginning and end of suffering. Like the sunrise on Mount Potala. The yogi who knows the initial basis through the instructions of the lineage-holder's circumstances, can naturally cut off the end of samsara. Like the sunrise at dawn in the darkness. Because sentient beings are deluded by their own minds, explanation, analysis, and conceptualization are the dharmas of samsara. Because there is delusion, there is beginning and end, like the arising and ceasing of inner and outer phenomena. Now listen again, Vajrasattva, the basis of samsara is attachment and conceptualization. Samsara appears because of attachment to the grasped and the grasper, like oil stains on white cloth. Because the habitual tendencies increase, it is the alaya. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, wisdom is the cause of nirvana, arising from the wisdom of vipassana. That which is realized through the circumstances of the lineage-holder is the bindu dharmakaya. The cause of the cause of both is the self-arisen nature body. Because it is the basis of all dharmas, it is called the cause of wisdom. Although there is a difference between realization and non-realization, the wisdom of the lineage-holder's circumstances is the cause of omniscience, therefore it is called the wisdom of the cause. Through the effort of action and the path, self-arisen bodhi is hindered, therefore, effortless awareness wisdom is honored as the supreme wisdom of the path. Without moving from the state of realization, the acceptance and rejection of the eight vehicles of the path, and the actions of benefiting others, are all accomplished. Qualities and powers arise completely. By knowing this fruit of wisdom, like a poor person finding a treasure, not in the future life, but in this very life, effortless awareness will manifest enlightenment. Now listen again to the essence of the gathering, understanding the meaning of the non-abiding dharmakaya, the dharmas of bondage and liberation, good and evil, both are originally not in the basis, therefore it is the only bindu.

Furthermore, listen to the essence of the gathering. Just as there is no darkness in the center of the sun, similarly, even without meditating on the realized meaning, in the realm of the unborn, enlightened Dharmakaya, there is no fear of error and obscuration. For example, just as the sound of a lion's roar scatters small animals, this meaning, for any yogi, can be overcome by inferior views and false accusations. Just as a lotus, though growing in mud, is not stained by impurities and is extremely clear, similarly, although a yogi has a physical body, wisdom is clear without being stained by obscurations. For example, a universal monarch gathers the four continents and subcontinents under his control. Similarly, by realizing this meaning, the powers of the ten perfections are also spontaneously accomplished without seeking their nature. If a yogi holds this confidence, then even without practicing, by knowing one, all is known, what need is there to mention attaining Buddhahood? Because there is no meaning superior to it, in the spontaneously perfect Dharmakaya, the suffering of birth and death does not arise, like gold that does not change from its base. Having understood the meaning of these words, in order to realize one's own mind, with single-pointed faith and reverence, one is devoted to the meaning through the lama's repetition. The third chapter, which reveals the understanding through special words, from the "Innermost Essence of the Great Perfection View, the Tantra of the Vast Expanse of Space." Then, before the King of All-Knowing, the assembled retinue asked the meaning: What is the difference between the examples and meanings of the self-arisen nature of reality? What is the basis for generating faith? How is the intention of Samantabhadra realized? Having heard the meaning of the request, he taught: I will explain the difference between examples and meanings. Just as space pervades everywhere, but sentient beings have no awareness of space, the nature of mind is unobscured, and awareness is clear. Therefore, space is an example of enlightenment. In the element of supporting wind, the wind of wisdom pervades enlightenment. Memory and awareness, being immaterial, are examples of enlightenment. Buddhahood is manifested in the realm of reality. In the gathering water, consciousness pervades. But water is not the actual nature of enlightenment. Therefore, awareness is the water of consciousness, and Buddhahood is manifested in the body of enlightenment. On the solid supporting earth, although the essence of one's own mind is immaterial, it is an example of enlightenment because it generates everything. Because it is unchanging and solid, Buddhahood is manifested. In the balanced warmth of this fire, although one's own mind has no basis in fire, afflictions
