I take refuge in the wise, perfect Buddha, With the heart of great wisdom and compassion, As the Dharma-nature abides, The unadulterated, uncorrected essence of mind. The means to realize with the deluded mind, The meaning of the extraordinary insight into samsara and nirvana's ignorance, At this time, I beseech you to explain to me. The self-arisen essence of the Dharmakaya, With the mind of understanding, bestows the teachings, How is the Buddha's Dharma-nature? The essence of samsara and nirvana's ignorance. Grandfather, I will explain its meaning, Although the meaning of Dzogchen Kye-me is profound, It is a great sin for those who have not realized it. Like a precious jewel that is hard to find, The evil people of the future, Arrogant, narrow-minded, and quick to feel, They do not believe in the meaning of the teachings. They crave many scriptures and eloquent words, Those who seek enlightenment strive for profit and fame, The lazy ones desire long-lasting signs of accomplishment, They are quick to enter and quick to abandon. They establish important things in the definitive meaning, They slander the words of truth, They are meticulous in words but rough in meaning, Those who hear and think are eager to show off. Knowing but not practicing, they abandon it, They mix and adulterate the upper and lower scriptures, They regard non-Buddhist human laws as essential, They sell profound instructions as merchandise. They thoroughly investigate the few words with profound meaning, But they say it is like broth that cannot be distinguished. Without comprehending and utilizing the key instructions in their minds, For those who want to realize only through reasoning, They establish reasons for disbelief. Even if they explain a lot, it is meaningless, They praise their qualities as if they were wise. For those who slander the guru, They say he is true and follow him. Without understanding the secret instructions, The student blames the teacher for not doing it. For the instructions that have been passed down from the source, They do not consider it to be without error, But they trust and hold as sacred the self-made and adulterated ones. They protect the faces of those with inferior views, When such a time arises, In the moment of revealing the meaning, The sutras, tantras, and Buddhas are frightened and terrified. The Shravakas and Sutras faint and fall to the ground, The gods, demigods, and rakshasa hosts, Those who slander, Will always fall into the great deep hell. Here, there are obstacles to life, And all kinds of fears come upon them. The head and body are shattered into thousands of pieces, The Vidyadharas will abandon them. Therefore, the meaning of the very secret, It is difficult to find a worthy student. After hearing and understanding these teachings, The retinue and others joined their palms in unison, And yearned with their minds.

Please have mercy! On the verge of falling into the abyss of samsara, Won't you, with great compassion, hold us? If caught in the trap of capturing wild animals, Won't you cut the net of conceptual thoughts? Though beings are bound by karma, Won't you bestow salvation with compassion? In the darkness of ignorance, Like a blind person, one's own mind is obscured, Won't the sun of wisdom arise? The great fire of hatred is blazing, Blown by the red storm of karma, Won't you extinguish it with the rain of dharma? Greed floods like water, Creating attachment like glue, Won't you burn it with the fire of wisdom? Lost in meaning, lost within the body, Lost the path, please be my guide. May all who have gathered here now, Without even a speck of malice, Aspire with faith to the meaning of enlightenment, Gathering their minds with certainty and faith. Then, the essence of the Dharmakaya, From the contemplation of the wheel of wisdom, Having manifestly arisen in mind, That realization of the meaning of the Samantabhadra Dharmakaya, Spoke to the assembled gathering: "Excellent, listen, faithful assembly!
