The Quintessence of Great Perfection View, from the Tantra of Vast Expanse of Sky, Chapter Fourteen, which shows the faults of decline in view and conduct. Then, to the assembled retinue, the King of All-Knowingness spoke thus: Without separating from the aggregates of the body, it is impossible for the qualities of a Buddha to arise. The thirty-two marks and eighty minor signs, as well as the ten powers and eighteen unshared qualities, cannot manifest now, being obscured by the body. Like a great garuda with wings fully grown in the egg, it cannot fly until it breaks the shell. Similarly, the yogis who realize the mind, this body obscures the great qualities. Furthermore, listen to the essence of the assembly. Like a monkey who is a master of tantra and transmission, in my game of true meaning, wanting to attain the accomplishment of longevity, with the preparation of common medicines, taking essence and reversing, nourishing the body with milk, when radiance flourishes, poisons and weapons cannot harm. After flying like a bird, dreams and subtle direct perception will also arise. Holding gods and obstacles as supreme, due to not realizing one's own mind, wandering in samsara. This body is an external object, although temporarily inseparable, if the method does not liberate, the bondage is extremely deep. Therefore, listen to the supreme wisdom. Without sentient beings separating from the aggregates of the body, how can the qualities of a Buddha arise? Wanting to attain the result with the physical body is extremely foolish and a place of reproach. Furthermore, listen to the essence of the retinue. The Bhagavan also, at the supreme root place, having abandoned his own body in the bardo, manifestly awakened in the Akaniṣṭha heaven. What need is there to say for all sentient beings? The Quintessence of Great Perfection View, from the Tantra of Vast Expanse of Sky, Chapter Fifteen, which shows that without separating from the aggregates of the body, one cannot become a Buddha. Then, to the assembled retinue, the King of All-Knowingness spoke thus: Wandering in the bardo without realization, initially it is due to the fundamental place of confusion, desire, sleep, and the aggregates of destruction, are signs of taking birth in the past. Therefore, the fundamental place is habit. Furthermore, listen to the supreme wisdom. The bardo of transferring life without realization, like clouds and fog obscuring the eyes, the nature body of ignorance is obscured. Like the habit of a blind person who has had his eyes gouged out. At that time, one remembers the previous places, one remembers clothes and relatives. Separated from the eyes of the body, confused and suffering.

Even if transformed into birds and beasts, Like those bound by the desires of greed. To enable beings with complete faculties, Ignorance causes the transformation of conditions. Without the eye of discerning wisdom, No matter what virtuous deeds are performed by body and speech, There is not even a particle of benefit, wandering in vain. In the Bardo realm, there is no memory of purpose. What will be taken, one or many? When faced with suffering and danger like rain, In holes, huts, houses, and other places, Involuntarily and forcefully entering the womb. Without the eye of discerning wisdom, Therefore, listen to the essence of accumulation. By the power of the two, ignorance and habit, In a state of unawareness, the place of birth, Born from any of the four types of karma. There is no choice over high or low places. The essence of the Great Perfection's view, from the Tantra of Vast Space, concludes the sixteenth chapter, which explains the habits of existence in the Bardo. Thereafter, to the assembled gatherings, The King of All-Knowing Mind spoke, Thus making known the boundaries of Samsara, Like in the depths of a dark abyss, As if one's own head touches oneself. Later, arising from the condition of ignorance, The afflictions arise in sequence from their own nature. Like a youth arriving at the prime of life, Being seduced by a beautiful woman, The afflictions of worldly flattery, Held in the mind due to attachment. Like a treasure seeker in the ocean, As if surveying the earth with pride, After the undertaking, bound by afflictions, There is no liberation from birth, old age, sickness, and death. Now, listen again to the essence of accumulation, The initial Alaya-consciousness of the mind, Because it is produced by evil causes and conditions, Holding onto non-existent phenomena as real, Therefore, it generates all afflictions, It is the seed of the three realms of Samsara. The intermediate habitual Alaya-consciousness, Follows the previous karma and acts accordingly, Unable to be independent and needing to rely on conditions, The conditions for arising are fourfold. The final Alaya-consciousness of the body, Truly engages in the five poisons such as greed and hatred, The suffering results of that are inconceivable, Birth, old age, sickness, and death have no end. Because it dwells in all sentient beings, The Alaya-consciousness is the root of Samsara, Therefore, it is not the fundamental nature of the Dharmakaya. Therefore, the Alaya-consciousness is conditioned, Revolving in Samsara by the power of conditions, Drowning in the boundaries of the four rivers, If not crossed over, there is no liberation. The essence of the Great Perfection's view, from the Tantra of Vast Space, concludes the chapter explaining where Samsara currently resides.
