Untainted by anything, the self-born body, Not severance, nor duality, The Buddha-essence, the Dharmakaya, exists. Therefore, on the ground, there is no samsara or nirvana. Since there is no duality, it does not touch the limit. The self-born Dharmakaya is like the sky. From the Great Perfection, the Definitive Meaning Gathering, The chapter on demonstrating the reason for the absence of duality in characteristics is the sixty-sixth. Then, to the assembled retinue, The All-Knowing Teacher spoke, "Liberation of mind in its essence, The reason for certain belief is important. Since there is no effort of body and speech, In the self-born mind, there is no bondage or liberation. Therefore, it abides in its essence. Now also, Vajrasattva, listen! Since it is not stained by the fault of grasping and being grasped, Conceptual thought is liberated in its own place. Therefore, the expanse of definitive meaning wisdom, Since it does not arise from cause and condition, The self-born essence body, Realizing that itself, one is liberated into the Dharmakaya. There is no more perfect Buddha than this. Now also, Vajrasattva, listen! Since the nature of reality does not change in the three times, The basis does not change under the power of karma. Therefore, realizing the Dharmakaya, one is liberated. There is nothing else beyond that. With faith in the definitive scriptures, The yogi who has found definitive confidence, From this very human body, Now attains the fruit of Buddhahood. Therefore, the essence of one's own mind, At this time, there is no need to seek with effort. Since it is clear without grasping, there is no need to meditate. Therefore, the confidence of true understanding, The yogi who possesses that is supreme. Now also, listen to the essence of the gathering! Since the Bodhicitta is completely pure, Realizing the meaning of that, the self-born meaning, There is no need to accomplish Buddhahood elsewhere. Therefore, the instruction with scripture is precious. Since the mind is liberated into the purity of reality, The five poisons of affliction are liberated in their own place. Since it is not stained by faults, In the self-born body, there is wisdom and heart. Sentient beings do not grasp with their own minds. Therefore, there is not even a particle of decline. Now also, listen to the essence of the gathering! All beings in the world, Even if they become inconceivable words, Just as the sky does not change when words are exhausted, For the yogi who realizes the definitive meaning, Even if gods and demons rise up as enemies, They cannot harm him as he is. Therefore, possessing scripture is extremely important. From the Great Perfection, the Definitive Meaning Gathering, The chapter on demonstrating the reason for the liberation of one's own mind in its essence is the sixty-seventh.

Then, for the sake of the assembled retinue, Vajrasattva requested the All-Knowing Teacher: How do the three bodies of the Teacher of the definitive meaning, the fruit of those to be tamed, appear? To whom does he speak of this retinue of the fortunate? What is the example and meaning of the unchanging continuum? Please, King of Equality, explain. Having heard the meaning of this request, the All-Knowing Teacher spoke: The essence of the Buddhas is the three bodies, of which the Dharmakaya is self-arisen wisdom, without birth or death in the three times, without coming or going, abiding primordially. Now listen to the essence of the assembly. The example of the definitive meaning Dharmakaya is the great unconditioned sky, non-existent, all-pervading, one taste in the three times, without distinction of beginning or end. That meaning is the self-arisen essence, the self-knowing body beyond words. For the sake of clarity in the mind, with definitive knowledge, therefore, Samantabhadra is the Dharmakaya, the pure land is the realm of bliss of Dharmata, the heart of self-nature, primordial enlightenment. From that, there is not a particle of change, self-arisen wisdom is completely pure. In the door of the heart of the essential Dharmakaya, there is no basis for cause and effect. The effortless essence of Dharmata, the spontaneously perfect Dharma of samsara, nirvana, and ignorance. The teacher of the Dharmakaya, Samantabhadra, with the blessing of the definitive meaning of intention, in the nature of the ten directions, there is no other retinue, he speaks to the Buddhas of the three times. The Great Perfection, the definitive meaning of the Gathering, the chapter on teaching the disciples of the Dharmakaya, the eighty-eighth. Then, the All-Knowing King spoke to the assembled retinue: The Sambhogakaya Buddha, those to be tamed by him will certainly appear. Listen well to that meaning. The example of the arising of the Sambhogakaya is the sky, In the non-existent emptiness, the five colors of the rainbow are clear and unmixed. That alone is non-existent. Likewise, one's own essence is also the display of the unborn Dharmakaya itself, the five families appear with colored bodies and ornaments. Therefore, it is the Sambhogakaya Buddha. In the basis of the ground of all, the Dharmakaya, it is clear without prior or subsequent imprints. Although there are various displays of the five elements, because there is no attachment, it is the realm of Dharmata. The fruit of true certainty is found. Through the door of the Sambhogakaya, the hidden meaning, the inner and outer secret meanings, to the Vidyadharas and Bodhisattvas of the ten bhumis, with the self-nature of secret mantra.
