Like taming a wild horse, without letting your own awareness wander, apply effort with moderate intensity, and settle into the appropriate meaning. This should also be done in conjunction with your own channels and energies. If the channels and energies are comfortable, the session should be longer; if they are uncomfortable, it should be shorter. Or, get up and take a short break. The signs of this are that both body and mind will manifest: the body will tremble and tears will flow, while the mind will find it difficult to let go of bliss. These are all signs of the power of meditation. To abide without conceptual thought is like a renunciate who has abandoned worldly affairs. In the nature of emptiness, rest openly, without distraction, in clarity. If agitation arises, it is like clouds in the sky: even though they arise, they do not harm the ground. If the activity of the mind is appropriate, there is no need to obscure it with conceptual thought, nor is there any need to modify it. This explains the experience of meditation: although the mind is focused on the object of focus, it is not completely focused on the object of focus, but rather abides in the bliss of not generating thoughts about the object. Even if clinging thoughts arise, they are like the sun shining on mist: do not follow them, but rather they will dissipate simultaneously. At that time, the mind will develop confidence in the correct view. At that very moment, your own experience is simply the disappearance of non-conceptual confusion. With awareness, realizing the meaning, that itself is experience. By becoming accustomed to that state, experience becomes comfortable. From the Great Perfection Definitive Meaning Collection, the thirty-seventh chapter, empowerment of the power of awareness with the sky symbolizing the essence. Then, in order to cut off the danger of the assembled beings falling into the precipice of the six realms, the recognition of wisdom, the root of which transcends mind, was proclaimed. The alaya is the basis, the essence is the dharmakaya, the analogy for recognizing the dharmakaya is: like recognizing a disease by examining the pulse, like a skilled doctor; and like a clear crystal ball. The meaning of the awareness of bodhicitta is: the former is the continuing mind, the latter is the mind that generates afflictions, what arises in the five sense doors is conceptual thought, naturally clear without clinging, abiding in the primordial state, therefore there is no increase or decrease. It is transparent wisdom, its own nature is the dharmakaya. Awareness enters effortlessly and directly, like a bird flying into its nest. In your own nature, the dharmakaya, generate a conviction of no meditation. The sign of that meaning is purity and bliss, awareness does not change, nor does it want to change. Like a fish that cannot leave the water, not leaving the meaning is the constant nature of reality. The yogi who possesses that sign is like a king who possesses a queen, when the former and latter are born.
