Holding directions. Holding directions as gods and self. Holding directions as objects and senses. Holding directions as conventional and ultimate. That compassion that holds directions, is not great compassion, it is said to be small compassion. The Bodhicitta of the completeness of mind essence, with the nature of all completeness, certainly has compassion without partiality. Thus it is taught. The five elements are primordially enlightened, they are the enlightened ones of the five profundities. What are they? Earth, water, fire, wind, and space, the five. One has five natures, twenty-five are the elements. Those five natures are: appearance is the nature of earth, gathering is the nature of water, lightness is the nature of wind, equanimity is the nature of fire, clarity is the nature of space. They are primordially enlightened: earth is the realm of the solidifying vajra, it is the Buddha without birth or death. Water is the realm of the precious treasure, it is the Buddha who gathers all. Fire is the realm of the pure lotus, it is the Buddha who burns the grasped and the grasper. Wind is the realm of lightness and movement, it is the Buddha who moves everywhere. Space is the realm of manifestation and pervasiveness, it is the unobscured and clear Buddha. Therefore, the five great elements, are primordially enlightened, as stated in the scripture of the completeness of mind essence. Thus it is taught. The certainty that the mind has no antidote, is shown to have no antidote by the three reasons. What are they? The example has no antidote, the meaning has no antidote, the sign has no antidote. The example has no antidote: the example of space has no antidote. The meaning has no antidote: the meaning of the nature of reality has no antidote. The sign has no antidote: Bodhicitta has no antidote. How are they? The three, example, meaning, and sign, have no cause or seed, and are free from all conditions and antidotes. Therefore, in the completeness of mind essence, it is called having no antidote. The instruction of the four certainties. The three explanations of lineage: the Buddha who did not arise from the mind, is the explanation of lineage. The result that did not arise from the cause, is the explanation of lineage. The instruction that did not arise from the scripture, is the explanation of lineage. How are they?

Then, the Buddha who does not arise from the mind is the Dharma-nature space, the vastness of the realm-nature. What does not arise from the mind is the Buddha. Not born from cause, it is the result. The fruit of Bodhicitta is not born from cause, it is the result. The oral instruction that does not arise from transmission is the meaning of Dharma-nature Bodhicitta. How the incarnate fortunate one realizes, that awareness, not born from transmission, is the oral instruction. These three types of lineage reasoning are also explained by the awareness of oral instructions. It is the explanation of lineage reasoning. The oral instructions of timing and mudra can also be divided into two or three categories. The timings are twelve and seven, and there are no more than twelve and five mudras. The two are diligent and practice. The oral instruction called timing is the essence of mind-nature perfection, in the unobstructed self-arising wisdom, all dharmas have no obstruction in the three times, so the meaning of Dharma-nature has no obstruction. Each opens opportunities, so it is called timing. The certainty of the mudras is that the essence of mind-nature perfection is originally the body of Bodhi, so there is no birth and no death. Originally the body of great wisdom, on the unchanging self-nature, it is called mudra. In the great perfection of mind-nature, the difference in the meaning of wisdom is that with twenty-five timings and mudras, after distinguishing the timings separately, the meaning is extracted with four yogas, and with the difference of the five great ones, the nine stages and worldly people, our own truth, if not determined, is like a blind man touching an elephant. This difference in the meaning of wisdom will surely be determined. Then how is it? No matter how all the phenomena that appear are originally uncreated, so they abide in Dharma-nature, this is called Dharma-nature timing. The uncreated Dharma-nature, for sentient beings, the self-nature has not been separated and abides, so it is called the timing of self-nature abiding. The uncreated Dharma-nature abides in non-action, so it obtains the greatness of the Buddha, the greatness of self-nature is shown by timing. The uncreated Dharma-nature is accomplished without seeking, so it is shown by the timing of being free from seeking. The uncreated Dharma-nature cannot be expressed in words and letters, so
