From the Tantra: The chapter on conveying the mind-essence to its ultimate depth, the twenty-fifth. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the nameless, all-liberating Teacher: "What is the instruction for conveying to the ultimate depth?" The Teacher addressed the assembly: "The instruction for conveying to the ultimate depth is: The instruction that liberates from extremes. The instruction that is endlessly profound. The instruction that is nameless and empty. The instruction that is primordially pure and unborn. The instruction that is insubstantial and like space. The instruction on the way of abiding in one's own nature. The instruction on the reality of things, the arrival of what is to be known. The instruction that the essence is certain, suchness itself. The instruction that is unmistaken and unadulterated, suchness itself. The instruction that is effortless and beyond mind. The instruction that is without hope and naturally abiding. The instruction that is nameless and free from extremes. The instruction that cuts through the root, the Dharma cycle of unknowing beyond mind. Convey the essence, the boundless and free from extremes, to its ultimate depth." Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky: The instruction for conveying to the ultimate depth, The chapter on teaching, the twenty-sixth. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the nameless Teacher, the all-liberator: "Where is the example of mind shown?" The Teacher addressed the assembly: "The example of mind is shown in the sky. It is insubstantial, clear and pervasive, without partiality." Thus he spoke. Furthermore, the examples shown are of the essence, branches, appearances, and confusion. The three—fields, gold, and waves forming on a lake—are shown as examples representing the ground, the essence, and the nature of reality. The three—sandalwood, musk, and garlic—are shown as examples of the unobstructed arising of power and awareness. The examples of light, energy, and rays are shown as examples of the essence of the sun, light, and rays. The uncertain, unchanging nature is shown like the example of camphor. The example of appearance is like the neck of a pigeon. The examples of confusion are like mistaking a rope, a stump, or a mirage for a snake, a person, or water. The self-liberation of mind-essence is like the example of a snake's knot. The examples of reversing confusion are like salt dissolving in water or a prisoner being freed from confinement. The examples of mind and phenomena mixing are like bubbles dissolving naturally in water or hailstones and snowflakes. The examples of mother and child being inseparable are like a stream reaching the ocean or water and milk mixing. Because there are four similarities, it falls upon the examples. Because there is no substance, it is symbolized by examples.

There is nothing else. It is necessary to follow the examples and methods in a similar way. So it was said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the twenty-seventh chapter on showing and establishing the nature of mind through examples. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the teacher, Nameless All-Liberator: Are the basis of Buddha and sentient beings one? If one, how do samsara and nirvana become two? If not one, are samsara and nirvana unrelated? When asked thus, the teacher taught the retinue: In the five bases, the pure space of the sky, in the universal ground of the basis of all, the basis of Buddha and sentient beings is one, abiding in equality. For example, in the ocean, like the formation of a flag. So it was said. Then, the retinue asked the teacher: If one, how does it become two? The teacher taught the retinue: Although the basis of Buddha and sentient beings is one, in the alaya consciousness of the basis of all, due to the movement of the wind, with ignorance as the cause of obscuration, it is confused into two, the gates of dark samsara. From the two states of understanding and not understanding that basis, the two of Buddha and sentient beings arise. It appears as the two of samsara and nirvana. Although it appears, samsara and nirvana are related, knowing the nature of samsara is nirvana. For those with realization, there is no distinction between samsara and nirvana, they are not unrelated, they are one in the realm of dharmata. So it was said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the twenty-eighth chapter showing the basis of Buddha and sentient beings as one. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the teacher, Nameless All-Liberator: Is the essence of ignorance and wisdom one or not one? If not one, are they unrelated? When asked thus, the teacher taught the retinue: Not realizing is ignorance, but realizing is not ignorance, therefore it is the wisdom of awareness. Therefore, ignorance and wisdom are not different. Not realizing and realizing, on this path they are one. Not unrelated, not different, the essence is one. For example, camphor, the basis is one, although it appears as two due to factors such as illness, heat, and cold, there is no other difference, in the essence of camphor it is one. So it was said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the twenty-ninth chapter on the essence of ignorance and wisdom being one, differentiated by realization and non-realization. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the teacher, Nameless All-Liberator: Where is the dividing line between samsara and nirvana? When asked thus
