Then the master instructed the assembly: There is no delusion in the basis of mind. Although deluded appearances seem to appear in the display, they do not stain the basis of mind. For example, in a pure crystal ball, whatever appears, white, red, medicine, poison, good, or bad, nothing is established in the basis of the crystal. Medicine and poison are not established in appearance. Medicine need not be cultivated, and poison need not be abandoned. Both are pure in the crystal ball. Similarly, in the basis of mind, although all kinds of deluded appearances appear, good need not be cultivated, and bad need not be abandoned. In the state of the mind's own purity, delusion is purified. Deluded appearances have no nature; they are purified in the mind. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the tenth chapter, which shows that delusion does not exist in the basis, is complete. Then, Rangjung Ngangdang (Self-Arisen Purity) asked the nameless teacher Kundrol (All Liberation): Are the minds of all sentient beings the same? If they are the same, what is the cause of the arising of good and bad, and the arising of sharp and dull faculties, and great and small wisdom? Or are they different, and does the mind possess a self-nature with differences of good and bad? Thus he asked. The teacher instructed the assembly: These two questions of yours, are you asking about the nature of reality or about the way things appear? If you are asking about the basis of mind, from the mandala of the victorious ones above to the terrifying places of hell below, for all limitless sentient beings, it exists equally, like oil pervading sesame seeds. For example, it is like pressing curd. There is no difference of good and bad in the mind. There is no sharp or dull in the nature of mind. Wisdom is neither clear nor unclear. If you are asking about the way things appear, when the nature of knowable things has not ceased, sharp and dull faculties, good and bad, and clear and unclear wisdom all arise from the force of delusion. For example, if seeds are sown equally in the same field, and water and fertilizer are applied equally, good and bad, and the size of the grains, all arise from the force. Although iron and stone are melted and refined equally, sharpness and dullness, good and bad, all arise from the force. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the eleventh chapter, which shows that the minds of all sentient beings are the same, is complete. Then, Rangjung Ngangdang (Self-Arisen Purity) asked the nameless teacher Kundrol (All Liberation): Is there ignorance in the mind? If there is no ignorance, what is the cause of the non-arising of wisdom? If there is ignorance, will wisdom arise? Thus he asked. The teacher instructed the assembly: These two questions of yours, are you asking about knowing or not knowing? If you are asking about knowing, the clear light of the knowing of one's own mind and ignorance

Ignorance is originally nonexistent. Primordial purity, wisdom, and light blaze clearly. There are no habitual imprints or obscurations on it. If one asks someone who does not know, because of not recognizing one's own nature, due to ignorance, one is obscured by the obscuration of dullness and habitual imprints. Not understanding the primordial clarity, one falls into the cycle of darkness. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the twelfth chapter, which shows that there is no ignorance or dullness in knowing one's own nature. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the Nameless All-Liberating Teacher: Does the mind have the five poisons and three poisons? If it does, even if they are abandoned, it seems as if they are not abandoned. If it does not, it is unreasonable for sentient beings of the six realms to wander in samsara. Thus he asked. The Teacher spoke to the assembly: These two questions of the assembly, to whom are they asked, to the realized or the unrealized? If one asks the realized, the five poisons and three poisons are not abandoned, but are self-liberated. The three poisons are primordially pure (ཀ་དག་,kadag,俱生,本初) body, speech, and mind. The five poisons are the nameless five wisdoms. Thus it is said. If one asks the unrealized, all sentient beings of the three realms possess the nature of the five poisons and three poisons. Therefore, they wander in the six realms of samsara. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the thirteenth chapter, which shows that the five poisons do not exist for the realized, but exist for the unrealized. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the Nameless All-Liberating Teacher: Does the mind have shape and color? Thus he asked. The Teacher spoke to the assembly: The mind has no shape and color. The mind has no form or characteristics. The mind has no calculation of existence or nonexistence. Seeing it as existent is a mistaken cognition. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the fourteenth chapter, which shows that the mind has no shape and color. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the Nameless All-Liberating Teacher: Does this mind become enlightened through conceptual thought? Thus he asked. The Teacher spoke to the assembly: This mind, which is accompanied by conceptual thought, this mind of memory, does not become enlightened. Because the nature of mind itself is the Dharmakaya, the nature of mind itself becomes enlightened through realization. The previous Buddhas also became enlightened through realizing the nature of mind. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sky, the fifteenth chapter, which shows that enlightenment is achieved through realizing the nature of mind. Then, Self-Arisen Natural Purity asked the Nameless All-Liberating Teacher: What is the difference between mind, awareness, and intellect?
