From the Tantra. The chapter explaining the meaning of the scriptures, the sixty-sixth. Then, the Lord of Secrets asked again: "Kye kye, Bhagavan Vajradhara, how is the method of explaining the oral instructions?" The Teacher replied: "Vajradhara, listen well. The method of explaining the meaning of the oral instructions is explained through five general meanings: explaining the historical meaning and the fundamental meaning, explaining the meaning of words, explaining the meaning of yoga, and explaining the meaning of necessity. The historical meaning has three aspects: it is not something made immediately by individuals, but is explained through the transmission of the intentions of all the Buddhas of the three times. What is spoken from the mouth of the Buddha is believable. Because it is the retinue of the definitive meaning, it is explained through the symbolic transmission of the vidyadharas. It is not intended for ambiguous meanings, but is spoken with definitive meaning, making it believable. Similarly, at the time of explanation, it is explained through the ears of individuals. Because the transmission is unbroken, it is certainly believable. The explanation of the fundamental meaning is: explaining it as the great self-aware wisdom. The explanation of the meaning of words is: the nature of blessings, the definition of terms, and the combination, are the way of explaining the victorious ones of the three kayas. Explaining the definitive meaning through symbolic words, it should be understood as explained above. The explanation of the meaning of yoga is: explaining the distinction of the vehicles. Its meaning is also clearly shown here. The explanation of the meaning of necessity is: the three confusions are liberated in stages of superior, intermediate, and inferior. In the precious essence, the tenets are completely shown." Thus he spoke. From the Great Tantra of Freedom from Proliferation, the chapter explaining the oral instructions with five necessities, the sixty-seventh. Then, the Lord of Secrets asked again: "Kye kye, Bhagavan Vajradhara, how are the three treasuries of oral instructions formed?" The Teacher replied: "Vajradhara, listen well. The three treasuries of body, speech, and mind are the basis of all oral instructions, as well as the oral instructions of the words that express it, and the three oral instructions that combine words and meaning. The collected oral instructions, the oral instructions of three words, are taken from the treasuries of body, speech, and mind, and should be understood as three essences."
