If one becomes deluded. Although self-born wisdom is inherently present, Like a prince wandering among the common people, Because one does not recognize one's own face, Because realization does not arise without instruction, Because the view has not become a certainty, When the five poisons arise as appearances, The consciousness that grasps at them will arise. It arises dependent on the five gates. When the object of hatred appears as an enemy, The grasping, which is the mind's conceptual thought, When form appears as the object of the eye, Hatred will arise in between. And when harsh words occur to the ear, Mental grasping further generates hatred. Self-appearance, ungrasped, is the untrue demon. If grasped at will, it is the work of a demon. Wandering in the realms of the three worlds. Likewise, for other afflictions as well, One acts wrongly through the two, grasper and grasped.

Sa! Hoping to achieve desired enjoyment, and rejecting the unwanted like an enemy. Knowledge and merit are also shown in two ways: hoping to achieve and doubting non-achievement. Whatever is enjoyed, wherever it arises, without achievement it becomes a demon. Outwardly, it is the demon of pretense, and inwardly, it is the six demons of self-indulging afflictions. This is a distinction, and from that, if differentiated, it is inconceivable. Whatever is clung to intentionally, that is the totality of all demons; without intentional clinging, demons do not arise. Whatever of the seven demons of enjoyment, arises from oneself and appears from oneself. Those are liberated in their own place. Like the four occasions of view, meditation, and action above, like the time with certainty above, with the view being self-arisen, self-appearing, and confident, the demons of enjoyment cannot prevail. In short, whatever demons arise, they are self-arisen, self-appearing, and liberated in their own place. If one understands in this way, one is free from demons. The showing of the four demons of experience is what arises from body, speech, and mind, and the arising of blessings and prophecies. First, the demon of the body is shown. Likewise, whatever also in the mind, appears as a sign and symbol, that is clinging to it as truly existent. Likewise, for speech and mind as well, seeing signs and symbols as sacred, that itself is the demon of speech and mind. In the body, happiness and so on arise; in speech, obtaining happiness, speaking Dharma, and so on arise; in the mind, clairvoyance and so on arise; outwardly, blessings and prophecies arise. If one engages in practice with such sacred intentions, it becomes a demon of experience. The liberation from those demons is like this: in view, meditation, and action, just as one is seized by confidence, if one recognizes the seven or four experiences, and so on, then clinging to experience as truly existent becomes self-appearing and self-liberating. Because intentional clinging is liberated in its own place, whatever sequence of experiences arises, that is the sign of view, meditation, and action. From the self-existing wisdom of one's own nature, one does not intentionally fabricate signs and symbols, and one does not reject what arises spontaneously. For example, it is like a wish-fulfilling jewel. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, Meaning Clear, Free from Proliferation, the chapter showing the eighteen spheres of activity of demons, the sixty-sixth. Homage! Alas, alas, Bhagavan Vajradhara! Having been liberated from the sphere of activity of demons, if doubts and obstacles are cleared away, how will the sequence of experiences arise? Vajradhara
