Not created by the five external elements, Nor formed from the various internal thoughts, Nor fabricated by the minds of ordinary beings. There is no name or label that can be attached. There is no ignorance, no thought, no delusion of unawareness. Delusions, habitual tendencies, various thoughts, And the qualities of wisdom, the display of power, and the fruits, In the self-arisen, natural state of reality, there is no distinction. There is no beginning time, nor any order of before and after. There is no good or bad to accept or reject, nor anything to accomplish. There is no edge or center, no direction or boundary. The essence is uncreated, uncorrupted, abiding naturally. The original self-nature, unborn and unceasing. The non-dual equality, not separating good from bad. Not clinging to true or false, existence or non-existence. Without thought or concept, like pure space. The essence has no shape or characteristics of things. There is no abiding or non-abiding, no appearance or emptiness. There is no permanence or annihilation, no one or many. Beyond the calculation of liking and disliking. In short, there is no edge or clinging whatsoever. The various delusions of sentient beings in the six realms, And the forms and wisdom displays of the Buddhas, The distinctions of the nine successive vehicles, Are not established on the basis of the reality of things. As it is, uncreated, it is the basis of all, The self-arisen, spontaneously present, is the source of all. The uncorrupted essence pervades all. Self-abiding enlightenment is the basis of all. Undivided and inseparable, it is the essence of self-nature, Transcending going and coming, arising and ceasing. There is no experience or non-experience, no entering or not entering. There is no loss or non-loss, because there is nothing, there is no need to search. Non-substantiality is the essence of all, the alaya, Free from clinging and non-clinging, all actions. Unborn and unmoving, beyond the realm of appearance. Self-nature, self-abiding, uncreated bodhichitta. Primordially spontaneously present, it is the treasury of all jewels. The equality of non-thought, The clarity of energy has not arisen. Knowledge has not been obtained through the five senses, there is no experience. Movement abides naturally, uncreated, in its own display. The power of its awareness has never changed. Like the arising of needs and desires from the wish-fulfilling jewel, Like the spontaneous arising of five lights from the perfectly pure sapphire, Like the spontaneous arising of butter from sesame seeds and so on. On the basis of the essence, the two powers are naturally accomplished. If realized, the two powers will manifest as form on the basis. If not realized, samsara will naturally unfold on the basis. Thus it is said. Clear explanation of the meaning without elaboration.

From the Tantra of ེན་པོ།, the third chapter, which is about the chapter on the Reality of the Ground. Ah Ah Ratna Dharma Kaya. On the great level mandala of turquoise, a place like a sky-ocean with a mirror, in the five-tiered jeweled stupa, residing within the great crystal vase, the secret of the Wind Horse Tamer, the Lord of Secrets—Vajrapani, again asked Vajradhara: The Ground Reality spoken of above, the basis of manifestation and the meaning of the Ground Appearance, please speak to the assembled retinue. Vajradhara spoke: For the sake of all sons of lineage, I will speak of the abiding manner of the Ground and the Great Ground Appearance; do not be mistaken, hold it in your mind! The appearance of self-nature dawns as the self-nature body, the Dharmakaya, a thigle like a single piece of uncut fish meat, the essence condensed into nectar, abiding like the sky and the sun. Alas! Lord of Secrets, be sure to remember! The appearance of self-nature is the realm of the Dharmadhatu, the completely pure Buddha-field. Therein, there is no beginning or middle, no up or down, no direction or boundary, no multiplicity or dependence. It is not a coarse dharma, so pressing it does not feel like it collapses, lifting it does not feel like it expands, everywhere it is clear and bright, everywhere it is unceasing, it is the realm free from elaboration, the unchanging space. The self-nature body is unbiased wisdom, unceasing awareness, spontaneously accomplished Buddha, without substance, empty and clear, transcending all limits of the maker, uncreated, transcending all limits of addition and subtraction, untainted, completely pure from all limits of faults, initially without cause, in the middle without condition, ultimately without antidote, therefore unchanging, not stained by ignorance and wrong views, disbelief and laziness, etc., free from the limits of permanence and annihilation, the limits of existence and non-existence, the limits of matter and awareness, and grasping and clinging. It is the essence of the meaning of all dharmas of samsara and nirvana. Appearance arises from the realm of wisdom, the realm is endowed with awareness, it does not differentiate limits, knowledge does not separately cut it off. Awareness pervades the realm, wisdom spreads everywhere, the nature of dharma gathers into awareness. Son of lineage, although the appearance of self-nature and the Dharmakaya are spoken of as two and indicated as such, but
