If we grasp it with the face of Dharmata, it is like this: Dharmata is emptiness, Dharmata has obstruction, Dharmata is non-dual, Dharmata is stainless, and unobstructed, these are explained as five. As the object of the realm, the appearance and sound, these things that possess Dharma, are not established in Dharmata, they are emptiness. In the nature of Dharmata, the three bodies and five wisdoms, appear in an uninterrupted way, that is itself. The purity of Dharmata is the absence of dualistic appearance, it is called outer and inner two. The meaning of Dharmata is pure, free from elaboration. Because Dharmata pervades with its nature, it is said that Dharmata is unobstructed. The teachings on the distinctions, differentiations, identifications, and determinations of Dharmata are as follows: Dharmata eliminating the limits of faults is like this: the coarse defilements arising from the purification of conceptual thought are the result of the growth of the five elements. Starting from the king of Mount Sumeru in the center, down to the fragments of stones, clods of earth, and pieces of wood, all are coarse manifestations of the growth of the earth element. Starting from the ocean, great rivers, and streams, down to mere dampness, mere moisture, and drops of water, all are coarse manifestations of the growth of conceptual thought into water. Starting from the great fire burning at the end of an eon, down to the tiny sparks from rubbing wood, all are coarse manifestations of the growth of conceptual thought into fire. Starting from the vajra crosswind, down to the falling of tiny hailstones, all these moving things are coarse manifestations of the growth of conceptual thought into wind. These four elements obscure the emptiness and non-elaboration of Dharmata. Eliminating the defilements of subtle elements, the power of meaning manifests in the nature of Dharmata. Obscuring the power of light, sound, and wisdom. Subtle defilements are the coarseness of the object realm, the object realm has things and characteristics. Because of using various things, it is the coarseness of the object realm. Because the way of arising is coarse, it is the five object realms. The five sense doors are coarse because things arise with characteristics. The five senses Are coarse because of use. What does it obscure? Because of having the distinctions of the five sense doors, it obscures the non-discriminating wisdom. Because of grasping various things as self, it obscures the single meaning of non-grasping. Because the five doors have arising and ceasing, it obscures the wisdom without arising and ceasing. The teaching of subtle dualistic mind is like this: the object realm is subtle, it does not use things. The way of arising is subtle, it does not use various forms. The number is subtle, the five sense doors cannot be seen. The aspect of mind

Therefore, what is grasped and what grasps, the afflicted mind is self-grasping. The five sense consciousnesses act on objects, and afterwards, conceptual thought knows, this is the mind that knows. Such knowing consciousness is the mind consciousness. It, with grasping and what is grasped, is the afflicted mind. Thus, the seeds of the seven consciousnesses, accumulated in that, are called the Alaya. The two minds obscure the self-luminous non-duality. The mind consciousness with grasping and what is grasped, obscures the self-luminous without grasping. The afflicted mind with self-grasping, obscures the awareness without grasping. Because the seven consciousnesses are the basis or root, it is said to be the Alaya of action. Those seven consciousnesses, if virtuous actions are performed, virtue increases and evil decreases in the base; if evil actions are performed, evil increases and virtue decreases. If predictions are made, the predictions increase; if no predictions are made, what is not predicted increases. In short, the Alaya of action, by the action of the seven consciousnesses, karma increases. If the seven consciousnesses do not act, karma decreases. The Alaya, which is the root of the seven consciousnesses, what do they obscure? They obscure the awareness with five characteristics. The general recognition, the specific characteristic of awareness is, the distinction of the three bodies, the elimination of the extremes of faults, and the recognition of both the general and the specific. The recognition of the Dharmakaya, distinguishing, eliminating the stains of faults, and being free from the three gross, subtle, and minute arising stains. Like the nature of reality being clear, like wiping away dirt from the center of a clear mirror. Awareness is free from the three gross, subtle, and minute stains of the mind, like self-luminous without grasping, like a lamp not moved by the wind. The nature of reality arises naturally, arising from the realm of wisdom, not distinguishing the extremes. Not like arising temporarily, but is primordially vast. The Dharmakaya has seven characteristics, emptiness is unchanging, qualities arise and are without stain, unobstructed and with characteristics, empty because it is without phenomena. The self-born Dharmakaya is not destroyed by conditions, therefore it is unchanging. Body and wisdom do not cease, therefore qualities do not cease. The essence is without fault, therefore it is without stain. Ability does not cease, therefore it is limitless.
